Miguel took this picture of the ever-so-elegant Chloe. She has a very active tongue.
The fishing trip yesterday was a failure. It was really windy, I didn't have any sinkers, I couldn't find any freshwater bait, I had to pee, and Chloe was being a poop. So, after going through a half a tank of gas driving around looking for bait and driving out to the closest freshwater, we had nothing to show for it. So I brought Chloe home, and later in the evening my friend Ryan called and volunteered to watch Chloe for me if I wanted to try to fish some more. But, by the time I got Chloe over there and got to some freshwater, it was totally dark. I attempted to fish anyway, but it was cold and creepy. I decided I shouldn't be alone by the side of a river at night, so I thought I'd use the free babysitting time to check out the big sporting goods store that I refused to go to on a saturday in the middle of the day. And finally, I found worms and freshwater fishing lures. I got some worms, a little lure, and some sinkers for $5. I refilled my tank, and in all spent $35 in gas and fishing crap for this stupid class. That was my entire paycheck from the Frame-up. But, I was ready for fishing for Sunday. So tonight I packed up Chloe around 6:00 and we tried fishing one more time. It was much better today. It was only slightly breezy, I had bait, I didn't have to pee, and Chloe was being a good girl. I caught three fish, but they were all the same thing, so I only kept the first one. They were all catfish, and they make this crazy croaking sound. It was hard to get the hooks off them because they have spikes on their pectoral and dorsal fins. And the dorsal spike has poison on it, so you have to be really careful. The end result of 2 days of trying to catch fish and $35 that I really could have used to buy food: one catfish. Needless to say, that one catfish isn't going to get me an A in my Vert. class. *sigh* At least fishing was fun. I haven't reeled in a fish in YEARS. I really like catching fish, I just don't like putting the worm on the hook or taking the hook out of the fish's mouth. It must hurt so bad. I feel bad for the fish. Well, I need to get to bed.

That's about the price you would pay for a decent catfish dinner. I'm glad you got at least "one" thing after all that effort. We saw a fresh roadkill skunk on the way to Mackay. Yes, we talked about mailing it to you and wondering if the postman would be able to deliever through rain, snow and smell of skunk... Hope your day is grand! Love you!
