Sick baby

Poor little Chloe is so sick. She's on five different medications right now. Her usual plumicort and zyrtec for allergies and asthma (which really don't seem to be helping with her congestion), an antibiotic, a steriod, and some sort of anti-fungal. When I took her to the doctor, he said she had some thrush in her throat, and she probably had an infection. I was hoping that she would get better today with all those medications, but she was actually a little worse. She's going to stay home tomorrow with Miguel while I go to class. Poor little thing. She's miserable. I remember the first day at home with me, she just kept crying and crying and there was nothing I could do. I passed her over to my mom and I started to cry because I felt so helpless. I haven't felt like that ever since until today. She just kept crying and there was nothing I could do to make it better. But then I remembered that we had a lot of stuff to do today, and that car rides usually make it better, so we went to petco and the vet and HEB, and she was a happy camper. So today was a pretty frustrating day, for many reasons. I don't have enough time to go into all of them, but I'll go into this one. As many of you know, Lily used to be an entirely indoor dog. She went outside twice a day to do her business and came right back inside. Then, she suddently started peeing in the house. This started a few months ago. It took a little while to figure out whether it was her or the cat, but I did figure it out. So now Lily's an outdoor dog, but she has to come in at night because she barks too much and I can't sleep when she's outside. Long story short, she picked up fleas from outside and the fleas got on the cat, and the cat spread them all over the house, and now we suddenly have an outbreak of fleas. It's disgusting. That's why we went to petco. I had to get a refill of citronella for her bark collar and new batteries so that she can stay outside at night, and I had to get flea drops for the cat, and in a few days, the exterminator's going to have to come treat the house, which means that I'll have to pack the cat and Chloe up and we have to go hang out somehwere for 2 hours. I love the warm south texas weather, but I really hate all the critters that come with it. I better head to bed.

Dang! Those kind of days just plain stink. The only good thing about them is as a basis for comparison to better days. Hopefully today will be better. Hang in there sweet pea!
