Just another Monday

This picture is for Chuck. Unfortunately, it's all blurry. I have this problem in my living room. Miguel put up solar screens on the windows in the living room which is great because it keeps out a lot of the light which means our living room doesn't get quite so hot. But it also means it's usually pretty dark in there, and our ceiling fan doesn't provide very adequate lighting. Anyway, that means that when I try to take a picture from across the room and zoom in, it doesn't work, and my guess is that's because the camera can't even see what it's supposed to zoom in on. That's my theory anyway, because the zoom works just fine in outdoor pictures. So Chloe was sitting at her personal piano and playing some lovely tunes. I took this picture and then I tried to get closer so it would focus, but that distracted Chloe and she crawled towards me to try and get the camera. It was really cute, though.

We went to a barbecue last night with the mormons. There were kind of a lot of people there which means I completely shut down and didn't say a word to anyone. I'm cool like that. I don't know why I can't just talk to people. But I can't, and that just seems to be the way it is. But Chloe was a good girl for the most part and she got passed around and had a little bit of cream pie, too. Her bed time is 7:00, but she stayed up til 8:45. I was hoping that she would sleep in today, but alas, that was not the case. I put her to bed as soon as we got home around 9:00 and she fell right asleep. But at 10:30 she started screaming. Because she's still on antibiotics and that makes for horrible poop, I went in to make sure she didn't have poop all over the place. She didn't. I picked her up and she calmed right down. I held her for a while as I sat on the daybed in her room. She apparently just needed a little love. I put her back to bed and then I went to bed. But at 11:30 she was screaming again. So I made her a bottle this time. She took some of it and I put her back in her crib. She did stay asleep after that but still work up at 7:00 this morning. Needless to say, I was not ready to get up at 7:00. But I don't have much of a choice when she's screaming at full force. She's taking a nap right now, but I know the instant I lay down in my bed to try and catch some sleep she'll wake up. She has some kind of radar that detects when I drift off to sleep. She's amazing.

I found out yesterday that I will be getting the same amount of grant money for the fall and spring semesters that I got last year. That means I'll have enough grant money to cover tuition and most of Chloe's daycare. I shouldn't have to take out very much in loans to cover school costs. And Miguel's mom has agreed to come stay with me when I have the baby and take care of it so I can go back to school. So it looks like I will be able to go to school full time this fall, and once I finish fall and spring semesters, I'll only have 6 or so credits left til I graduate. I could be graduating in just over a year! Then I just have to pray I can get a decent job.

Maybe she'll be lucky and inheirited the piano playing gene from her talented mom! :0)
