Boring, rainy day

It's been raining off and on today. It's really nice though, because the temperature is finally in the 80's. It's been in the mid to high 90's for a few weeks with the heat index in the 100's. So it's nice to actually be able to go outside and go run errands no matter what time of day. Just the thought of getting in my car when it's as hot as it's been makes me miserable. Chloe and I run all our errands early in the morning, because otherwise, it's just too hot. If it were just me getting in the hot car, it wouldn't really matter, but I hate to put Chloe through that.

Here's the thing about Radiohead. They have a lot of amazing songs that I just can't get enough of. And then, in the same album, there will be at least two tracks that annoy the hell out of me. I just noticed there's wall texture splattered all over half of the door frame leading to the kitchen. Nice. Ooh, and check this out:
Look past the cute baby and notice the three different types of baseboard in my hall way. On the left, we have crown moulding, which belongs on the ceiling. In the middle, window moulding with quarter round underneath it. And to the right, the original baseboard. Not to mention, those lovely aluminum vents tacked on that closet. Geez, I have a lot of work to do. Oh, and I just noticed that one side of the closet has the original molding while the right side has yet another type. Simply amazing.

Here's a warming for all of you. I wish someone had told me. If you're ever at the movie store and think to yourself, "hey, Jack Black is pretty funny, maybe I'll rent 'Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny,'" don't do it! I managed to sit through an entire hour of it, but that was all I could stand. It was quite possibly one of the worst movies I have ever seen, if not the worst. And I'm not much of a film critic. It was horrible. Miguel did manage to watch the whole thing, and sadly, the rest of the movie was just as bad as the first hour. What's worse is I only rent about 4 movies a year, if that, and I never go to the theater, so that was a serious waste of a movie rental. Luckily, we also rented Stranger than Fiction, and it was very good.

So, Chloe has fallen down and bonked her head about six times today. I put her down for another nap because that's usually a sign that she's tired. She gets really careless and sloppy and falls down a lot when she's tired. She's protesting her nap right now, but I'm fairly confident that she'll give in. She's not usually this clumsy.

Sigh... I'm bored. I guess I could actually take Chloe out of the house and we could do something. It's not like there's not a beach just a few minutes away. It would actually be a pretty good day for the beach since it's overcast. Then again, it's Saturday, and the beach is always packed on weekends, regardless of the weather. Maybe I'll make brownies. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

Ok, I thought I was done, but I'm not. Now I have something to say about eBay. I have been disappointed in eBay lately. You used to be able to get good deals from people selling their crap, but now it's just like any other store, but sometimes worse. The shipping that these companies charge is ridiculous. I've seen the same item offered by the same company at two different prices. One DVD is only $1.oo, yet the shipping is $9.00. The other DVD is $10, but hey, free shipping! I was just looking up DVD's, and one seller is charging $4.50 for shipping, and it's just the DVD, no case. Since when does it cost $4.50 to send one single CD???? I know postage is going up, but that's just ridiculous. Good thing Craig's list came along, because eBay doesn't seem to have good deals anymore. I've found a 3 in 1 crib on craig's list for $50. It looks pretty nice. If Miguel gets a good paycheck next week and the crib's still listed, I may have to go check it out. If not, I still have three months at least, so I'm sure something else will come up in that time. I figure there's really only two things I'll need to get for this new baby. One is a crib, because Chloe won't be out of hers for a while. The other is a double stroller. Chloe will probably be walking by the time this one's born, but I don't image she'll be very proficient at it, and I'm sure I'll want to be able to cart them both around at the same time. I have one of those things that you put on like a backwards backpack to hold the baby, but neither Chloe or I liked it very much, and I doubt it'll be much different with this child. So anyway, that's my take on eBay. I still like to look stuff up on eBay, but it's usually a disappointment.
