Very early today, I noticed an absence of Pistachio's presence. This isn't really that unusual. She normally does spend about 4 straight hours asleep somewhere, but usually it's on my bed or on the chair, or at least somewhere I can see her. So, by the time 5:00 pm rolled around, I started to get a little worried. After searching the entire house and calling out her name, I heard little mews coming from behind the dresser. I pulled open the bottom drawer, but still no kitty. I pulled open the middle drawer, and then I saw Pistachio's big blue eyes looking up at me. I guess she must have crawled in the dresser while a drawer was open, and then I shut it on her. I'm glad I found her. She doesn't seem too distraught about the whole thing though.

One thing I never have found is my missing flip flop. Chloe has been very interested in my flip flops lately, and I have a feeling she carried it off somewhere, and it's been missing for 2 days. I've looked everywhere I can think of, but it's just nowhere to be found. But really, she did me a favor because my old pair were getting pretty worn out, and they smelled bad. So the loss of my left shoe forced me to finally buy a new pair. Unless I'm in a lab, I only wear flip flops, and there's only one style that I'll wear. I've discovered the best flip flop ever made, and now nothing else will do. They're a little pricy for flip flops, $24, but well worth every penny, and they last for years. It's like walking on a cloud.

Ever since my mother left, Chloe has been an angel about going to bed. Every time I put her down for a nap before my mother got here and the whole time my mom was here, it was always a struggle. She would scream for at least 5 minutes before falling asleep. She did this the whole first year of her life. But as soon as my mom left, she started going down for naps without a fuss. And now, she rarely throws a fit when I put her down for a nap or bedtime. It's amazing. It's so peaceful. I put her down in her crib on her back and put her little stuffed kitty next to her, and she just looks at me with her huge eyes and doesn't move or make a peep.
I did get my refund check today, so I took Chloe in to daycare to make a payment. We visited the baby room, and Chloe's little friend Vivian, who is exactly a month older than her got a big smile on her face and gave Chloe a hug. It was really cute. Chloe was really tired and pretty much just stood there expressionless with her mouth open. But Vivian remembered Chloe and was very happy to see her. They've known each other since Chloe was 8 weeks old, so they go way back. I think Chloe will be glad to be back in school, too. She really likes her teachers and especially her friend Vivian. It's a good break for both of us.
