New slipcovers... thank you Chuck!

When my mom came down, Chuck sent $20 for her to give to me, but it had strings attached. I was told to spend the money on me. Not on bills or groceries or gas, but on something I wanted. So today I took my money and I went to one of my very favorite stores in the world: Joanne Fabric. I bought some fabric and foam so that I could make slipcovers for my super-cool restaurant booth. Almost a year ago, Miguel saw this booth for $20 and just couldn't pass it up. I think it's fun. Anyway, the seats are kind of a retro pink color, which is great, but now that I'm close to done with my kitchen, it looks really out of place. All the colors I have are pretty bold, except for the wall color, and the pink and blue next to eachother remind me of the kind of nursery that my children will never have. So I chose a deep red faux suede, 50% off. And I got the same fabric that I used for my curtain to make cushion covers for the bench, also 50% off. The foam for the cushions wasn't on sale, but I had a 50% off coupon to cover that. AND, I had a $5 off total purchase coupon. So the whole thing only cost $35. What a steal. I finished one side of the booth today, and I'm pretty satisfied. I tried to get a picture of the booth and the picture I have hanging on my wall, because they compliment eachother nicely, but it didn't turn out very well. I also didn't notice the blue rag on the floor, but I'm not about to go take another picture.

The pictures aren't very flattering. It looks very cute in real life. And it's super comfy. The faux suede is really soft, and it's nice having some padding under my butt, especially since I'm carrying around some extra weight and my back always hurts. The only things I have left to do on my kitchen is grout a small area, cut about 5 small tiles and install and grout them, and cut and install baseboard on two walls. It's not very much, but I've really been putting it off. I think tonight I'll try to get the grout done. It really doesn't take long at all. The clean up takes longer than the actual grout work does. Hopefully I can get my motivation back and get it finished up so I can do my "before and after" post, which is going to be huge. Well, I guess if I plan on getting that done tonight, I should wrap this up.

Nice!!! They look even better than how I had imagined them when you described them...That's a mouthful! It really does look nice, even with the blue rag under the table:0)I like the photo with the makeup too. Though I think you look spectacular without as well. Though I do have to say the shorts and wife beater top are not your best fashion choices. But hey! I'm all about comfort and you don't wear those in public. Besides I'm in no position to point fingers/ I've worn some pretty stylin outfits in my day and unfortunatly there is photographic evidence to prove it. Ahhh well....
