Waiting...

I just put some chicken in the oven and it's got to bake for at least 45 minutes, so I thought I'd do a little post. I don't know what Miguel's doing, he was watching basketball, but now he's missing in action. That's pretty standard procedure. He's hard to keep track of. Good thing he has a cell phone.

I thought this was a cute picture of Chloe admiring some fine art of a monkey drinking liquor. It's a good picture. I only have two custom framed pictures in my home, and the monkey is one of them. You would think that I'd have more framed pictures in my home since I've worked in frame shops for the past 4 years or so, but that's actually worked against me. After being around such nice frames and becoming somewhat of a critic of framing, I can't just slap something in a cheap frame anymore. But even with an employee discount, custom framing is expensive, so I have bags of pictures that I want to frame, and I know how I want to frame them, but it will be years before I will be able to afford it. I'm sure my next few posts will all feature Chloe in that pink striped jumper. Miguel got a hold of the camera the day she was wearing that outfit and took A LOT of really cute pictures. So I'll probably just be posting those for a while.

So, Miguel takes off early tomorrow morning. That's why I'm making the chicken. It's oven fried chicken, and I think it'll be good for him to take out on the road since money's really tight, so he won't really be able to stop and buy food along the way. Overall, it's been good having him home. The first couple days were pretty stressful, but it got better. I will miss him.

I didn't get any work done on my kitchen while Miguel and my mom were here because I realized that once they left I'd be alone and have nothing to do until I start my summer classes on July 2nd. I don't have much work left to do. I'm hoping it'll be enough to keep me busy til school starts. I'm going to create a massive "before and after" post when I'm all done.

I went to the dermatologist the other day to get some weird growth things removed for the third time. Turns out I keep having these problems because of my birthmark and the only way to get them to stop is by removing my birthmark. So the doctor is trying to find a doctor in Corpus who has the laser needed for birthmark removal, and then we have to deal with my insurance to make sure that they'll cover the procedure. I've never seriously considered removing my birthmark before because it usually doesn't bother me . But now that I may get it removed, it's weird for me. If I get it removed, then I'll just be like everyone else. I feel like I won't have anything to make me stand out from the crowd, and that's always been a big deal to me for some reason. Of course, the chance that I can actually get my insurance to cover this is pretty low, so I probably have nothing to worry about. I'm getting sleepy and the chicken should be done soon, so I guess that's it.

It will be weird for me if you get your birthmark removed! You certainly won't lose your originality, though, so don't worry about that.
