Chloe had another big event yesterday. I was mixing my frosting in the kitchen and I noticed she was being a little too quiet, so I peeked into the living room to see what she was up to. She was sitting on the couch looking at a book. She finally managed to get up on the couch without help. And then she fell off the couch, also without help (she's fine). And today she's been walking a lot. Usually once she falls down, she just starts to crawl because it's easier. But today almost every time she fell on her butt, she got right back up and started walking again. It's still slow and shaky, but she's getting better!

Jenette was a little concerned about the pain in my stomach. I don't know if it's normal to have the kind of pain that I'm having, but I know that I had it during my 8th month with Chloe, and I also know it's not labor pain. It's a very different sort of pain. And it may just be a result of constantly bumping my belly on things that are waist height. I did mention it to my doctor last thursday, but he didn't seem too concerned about it. And it's actually been getting better since I started working out again. My first day back at school I was only able to do five minutes on the elliptical machine before my stomach started to hurt and I had to stop. But everyday I've been able to do a little more. Today I did 16 minutes, and it still didn't hurt, but I wanted to switch to the treadmill at that point. So hopefully I can continue to work out and it will continue to feel better. This is a picture of my belly today (35 weeks).

I had a little scare today. As I mentioned earlier, two babies in Chloe's daycare came down with contagious diseases last week. Chloe's had a stuffy/runny nose the past couple of days, and today she's had a little bit of a cough. So I wrote down the name of the diseases that the other two babies had caught and did a little research when I got home. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have hand, foot and mouth disease. However, her symptoms matched perfectly with what the other baby had: whooping cough. Upon further reading, I noticed that most children are immunized for whooping cough with the DTaP shot. So I got out her immunization record just to make sure. To my horror, the line for the DTaP shot was empty. I about lost it. Of course this all happened during her doctor's 2 hour lunch break. But before totally freaking out, I decided I should make sure that she didn't get a different shot that may have combined with DTaP with something else. Sure enough, I looked up the Pediarix shot, which she had at exactly 2, 4, and 6 months, and it's a combo shot that includes a whooping cough immunization. Thank goodness. I think it's probably just a little cold or her asthma acting up because she's been eating fine and she hasn't had a fever or anything. I just don't understand how a baby in her daycare caught whooping cough. You have to provide a copy of immunizations when you start your child at the daycare. I'm just glad I've stayed right on top of her immunizations.
I just heard my little munchkin coughing which means she's either awake now or will be awake very soon, so I should start making dinner. We're going to have cheesy rice with vegetables. Very tasty.

Mmmm, cheesy rice and veggies sounds pretty good. Can I come for dinner?
Looks like you're doing just fine with the tummy and exercise. I'm glad to hear Chloe's doing more and more walking each day. Did you get the video of it? She'll be done with that wobbly beginning stuff in no time.
Keep up the great job with the childcare. I wasn't as good about getting the checkups right on time when you three were little. You are a GREAT mom!
You look so wonderful at 35 weeks, if I only looked that good.. Because I didn't.. I was HUGE.. I also notice that isn't a maternity shirt which makes me even more jelous of you..lol.. You look GREAT!!! Keep up the good work.. Glad Chole didn't get anything from the daycare..
I am so glad to hear the belly hurting thing isn't a cause for alarm. Also glad to hear Chloe hasn't caught wooping cough. That is scary.
