I just sent Miguel and Chloe out to run my errands. They have to go to radio shack to buy an a/c adapter, deposit money at the bank, and pick up some photos and tortillas at the grocery store. That should be some fun daddy/daughter bonding time.

I was checking my e-mail and my chemistry professor forwarded me the notes for class for tomorrow. He also included this, which I found hilarious:

"
We weren't sure if you had a boy or a girl -- but if your baby is a girl we've named her "Polly Mer Holmes" in honor of the class! If your baby is a boy then we'll go with PETE (for "polyethylene terephthalate) Holmes."

My class is a polymer chemistry course. Maybe I'm just a chemistry nerd, but I thought that was really cute.

I did a little photo shoot with Leyla yesterday so I could make her birth announcement. I got some pretty good pictures. Most of you probably got an e-mail with one of them in it already, but I'll post another one here. I took this one with my hand next to her head to illustrate how tiny she is. I can't believe how itty bitty she is! It's funny how huge Chloe looks to me now in comparison. And Chloe's not exactly big for her age. I guess everything's relative.

Things are going ok here. I can tell that my sleep deprivation is finally catching up with me. It became obvious when I furiously cleaned out the fridge in response to the neighbor's music (which was entirely too loud). That's the kind of stuff I do when I'm tired and irritable. But it worked out ok because the fridge really needed to be cleaned out.

Leyla is a really good little baby so far. It seems like she's not eating enough because I'm totally engorged despite the fact that she does nurse every 2-3 hours and has been having plenty of wet diapers. I guess my body thinks that she should be eating more than her body is telling her to eat. But I'm glad it's not the reverse situation. Anyway, she naps during the day in her crib or on the couch, but at night, she insists on sleeping with me. I try putting her in the little crib right next to my bed, but she wakes up after about 3 minutes and fusses. And I give in because she's only 5 days old, and Chloe stopped cuddling really early on, and I miss having a baby to cuddle with. So she's been spending the nights with her head on my bicep and her body tucked between my forearm and my torso. Maybe that's a really bad idea, but that's how we do it.

Well, I need to do some research for my physiology class, so I better get started on that.

What a sweet little thing she is! And how fun that she is a cuddle bunny! Can't wait to hold her on Friday! The colors in the photo are really nice...

I think she looks like her own self. Such a little doll.
Oh if I only did things like clean the fridge when I was tired. I seem to lay in bed drooling and thinking of yummy foods.

I love the bedspread! I think that is so funny that your teacher sent you that e-mail with the baby names. How cool. I am also jealous that when you get frustrated you clean the fridge. I usually call our neighbors unkind names and secretly hope a power surge comes through and blows up their stereo system....I know I need help :)

I remember feeling the same way about how much Tucker "grew" overnight when Spencer was born. And Tucker was small for his age too. It's an amazing thing.
