Just a quick note

I just wanted to type a quick post before bed. My mother went home yesterday, which was pretty sad for me. I really miss having her around. I talk to her pretty much every day, which is good, but it was so great to have her here. But I'm really thankful that she got to come down at all. I really didn't expect her to, considering it's the middle of a school year. But she did, and it was wonderful and I'm looking forward to the next time I get to see her.

I also wanted to say I love my little girls! This picture is blurry, but I think it's cute. You can see Chloe's hand in action. She loves to pet her sister's head. She does a pretty good job of not getting too rough, but then she'll suddenly poke Leyla in the head with her index finger. Anyway, both my girls are doing great, and I love them so much. It's strange to think less than a year and a half ago, I didn't have any children at all. I must say, I am thankful for the hurried hurricane evacuation and the alcohol consumption that brought about my being a mother. I know that sounds odd, but that's how Chloe came to be, and I love her so much and I love being a mother. And my little Leyla is so sweet. I'm amazed at how much she's changed already. Well, I really need to take advantage of the fact that Leyla's asleep and try to get some sleep myself.
