This entry is for strong stomachs only

My house smells like vomit, diarrhea, and cat poo. My stupid cat doesn't bury her poo, she just takes a dump and then runs like hell out of the litter box. So then it stinks for about an hour til the litter can dry it out. Disgusting. I guess that's why my mom doesn't like cats in the house.

The other two gross smells are Chloe's doing. Yesterday I finally felt like maybe I had a handle on my life. At 4:15pm yesterday, Chloe was acting tired, so I put her down for a nap. She didn't really sleep, but I left her in there for 45 minutes hoping she would sleep. At 5:00, when it became obvious she wasn't going to sleep any time soon, I went in to check on her. I found her standing in her crib along with the entire contents of her stomach spewed all over her bedding. I sort of panicked because I didn't know how to clean it all up and this is the first time Chloe's ever vomited. I picked her put and put her in the tub and hosed her down with the removable shower head. Then I gathered up her bedding, took it outside and used to hose to get most of the puke and her lunch off of it. I was thinking that maybe she'd just cried so hard she made herself puke. I was wrong. She continued to vomit until 4:00 this morning. I kept trying to give her pedialite and water, and she puked everything back up immediately. The good news was that she didn't have a fever or diarrhea. Well, now the good news is that she hasn't had a fever. Well, there's more good news- but now i'm holding leyla and have to type with one hand so i'll finish this later

Ok, both the kids are finally asleep. I really do have a lot of good things going right now, so I'm going to follow Jenette's lead a list a few of my blessings:
  • Both my children are sleeping
  • Chloe has stopped vomiting and has no fever
  • I have a wonderful family (that includes all my extended family)
  • I haven't had to drop out of school
  • I have a home and reliable transportation
  • I recovered quickly from delivering Leyla
  • My good friend Ryan volunteered to watch Leyla for the rest of the semester
  • My chemistry professor agreed to let me take my test on Monday
There are a few things going right in my life right now. The idea now is to focus on the good things and try to forget all the other crap that's going on. However,I can't ignore the rotting armadillo in my back yard, so I may have to try and find a sitter tonight so I can gut it and boil it. Gross. Why did I choose to be a biology major again??

One good thing did come out of Chloe being sick last night. What you need to know about Chloe is that she will never cuddle. She doesn't really like to be held, and she never falls asleep when I'm anywhere in sight. But last night she was feeling so horrible that she actually wanted to be held. Although Chloe didn't get any benefit to being sick, I did because I finally got to cuddle with my baby. Of course she threw up on me about 4 times, but that's ok. And I even got to sleep in close proximity to her. I got my old shower curtain and spread it on the living room floor because the carpet could provide some cushion for her and I put a blanket and towels over that, and that's where she slept last night. I slept on the couch next to her so I could clean her up when she woke up to puke. The poor little thing just couldn't keep anything down. But by this morning, she seemed to be better, and now she's sleeping it off.

One more thing. The biker photo... I was making a feeble attempt to study for my physiology test yesterday and I came across this photo. I just really like the look on the guy's face and I thought maybe other people would enjoy it too.

I'm so glad you found a good sitter!
I hope Chloe is improved. It is odd she pukes but has no fever.
(I hope this is a result of her first fast food meal!)

I also am so glad you found a good sitter- and am so happy Ryan is in your life. She sounds like such a great person! Poor little Chloe. I hope so gets better fast but I am glad you got to cuddle a bit.
