15 minutes to burn

I'm working on the squirrel skeleton right now and I can't do much of anything until the prosthetic bones finish baking. Apparently I managed to lose the bone that attaches to the knee cap and one of the tarsals of the ankle, so I had to try and replicate them with sculpy by looking at those same bones in the left leg. This squirrel is turning out to be quite a lot of work.

In good news, Miguel got home yesterday! The bad news is that he's pretty much a cripple. He sprained his ankle on Monday and continued to work all week with a sprained ankle. Then he drove home, which is a 20 hour drive. The Tacoma does not have cruise control, so his right leg, which is the one with the sprained ankle, didn't move much the entire time. That means the veins in his blood couldn't efficiently return the blood to his heart, so it pooled in his foot/ankle, causing severe swelling. It looks really bad, and he's in a lot of pain. So I've pretty much been playing nurse since he's been home. He's been laying on the couch with his foot elevated and we've been putting ice on it. It looks a tiny bit better now, but it's pretty bad. Poor guy.

My timer just went off. So I'll end with a few pictures for your viewing pleasure: gangsta' Chloe, and serious Leyla.

And just when I thought things couldn't get any busier for you. Now add nurse maid to the mom, student, scientist puzzler list. Hope Miguel heals quickly. The pics of the girls are great. Leyla looks very different with her eyes open, not so much like a newborn. The squirrel leg looks great! How do you stick it together? Superglue?
