I took the girls shopping this morning. We had to get some groceries as well as some other house hold stuff, so I decided to go to Wal-mart. While we were there, I bought this monkey backpack/child leash for Chloe. I've noticed it the past couple times we've been to Wal-mart and thought it was cute and a good idea, but I could never justify spending the $10 to buy it. Well today, I justified it. Maybe I should feel bad about putting a leash on my child, but I don't feel bad at all. Once she gets a little better at walking and following directions, I'm hoping I can just have her walk next to me while Leyla is in her stroller or in the shopping cart when we have to go out. And if she's wearing the monkey leash, I don't have to worry about her wandering off if I take my eye off her for a minute. Anyway, I put it on her today as a test run to see if she'd embrace it or scream and cry. She seemed to enjoy it. And you can expect to see more psychedelic backgrounds in my photos now that I've discovered the smudge tool in photoshop and can turn the background of Chloe's huge toy mess into colorful, smoky swirls.
I was looking through my blog tonight and I noticed it's been a while since I've posted a picture of Leyla. I can't believe she's 6 weeks old already.

I took a picture of her after she had a screaming fit. Unfortunately, the camera didn't capture the watery, red eyes as well as I would have liked. She looked pretty sad. Mornings are tough because Chloe and Leyla tend to wake up at the same time. I usually stay in bed for a few minutes and feed Leyla before going in to get Chloe. I make sure that Leyla is fed and has a clean diaper and then I have to get Chloe out of bed and make her breakfast. Well, Leyla is almost always still awake during this time and she cries and screams the whole time because she wants to be held, but I can't possibly hold her and make scrambled eggs, so she just has to cry. It makes me sad that I can't do it all at once, but that's life. Well, this picture was taken right after I finished taking care of Chloe and went in to console Leyla. Look at that double chin! She's putting on lots of weight.
This week's going to be so relaxing compared to the last few weeks. I don't have any tests, no presentations, AND no physiology class!!! Hopefully I can get my house in order and catch up on some homework and maybe get some squirrel work done. My armadillo skeleton didn't work out (the skull was broken in pieces and then an animal took off with some of the bones) so now I have a partner and we're going to prep a squirrel skeleton. We skinned it on Friday, and I actually helped with the skinning. I'm so proud of myself. I never thought I could do something like that, but I found out that it's actually a lot more disgusting to watch than it is to actually do it. Anyway, maybe we'll be able to get the bones all cleaned this week.
I can tell I'm just rambling on to avoid doing house work which
really needs to be done, so I better get started on that.

Chloe's got a monkey on her back eh? She looks pretty sweet though. I think it's a great idea to use that. There is one of you and two of them - math plain and simple. The only way I like math.
I can hardly believe that is Leyla! She looks SO different. You can see the watery eyes, and check out that double chin! She must take after Miguel a bit being able to put on the weght fast like that! Oh, ok, more likely her gramma if we're talkin weight gain.
I'm so glad you're going to get a week that's a little less full of tests, projects etc. for a change, though knowing you, you'll manage to fill it up.
Cute monkey! I would have justified that purchase as well. The watery eyes pictures of Leyla is so cute and sad. Good luck with the new skeleton project....sounds fun :)
