So now you may be thinking to yourself "since when does Kelsey go to the beach with her dad?" Well, my father came to visit this weekend to meet his new grandaughter and be entertained by granddaughter number one. The first thing we did was pack up the girls and head to the beach. Here are a few pictures:
Chloe had a pretty good time until she tried to chase some shore birds. She got close to the water, and then the tide got her feet wet and she wasn't prepared for the cold, so she freaked out and fell on her butt in the cold water. Luckily mom was prepared with a towel and had already fitted her with a lil' swimmers diaper before the outing.

Beautiful Blue
I have to start by saying that today I saw one of the most beautiful and incredible sights of my life. My father and I took the girls to the beach as dusk. We were heading back to the car once the sun set when we saw flashes of neon blue light in the ocean. It was amazing. Apparently there is a type of plankton in the Gulf of Mexico that has biooluminescence, and it shows up in the white caps when the waves crash. It was like nature's light show. There is no possible way to describe how incredible and beautiful it was, and there was no way for us to capture it on video or in a still photo. I can't get over how awesome it was.
And here's Leyla bundled up with grandpa. It was a really nice day to go the beach. It's unseasonably warm right now, so it worked out really nicely. Leyla had a pretty good time checking everything out with her huge peepers.

WoW! I'm jealous, I had heard about the biolumescent (how the heck is that spelled?) and now you've seen it! Sounds pretty amazing. I'm so glad grandpa came to meet Miss Leyla and Chloe got to go to the beach and demonstrate her dramatic skills.
I'm thinking Miss Leyla may have a round little noggin like her crazy gramma if the pic with grandpa is any indication :0)Thanks SO much for the other pic with Leyla in "the Outfit". Made tears come to this ole gramma's eyes!
I'm also jealous of Chloe's flexibility. Remember when I demonstrated my flexibility with kicking. Yeah.... looks like a fun day!
I have never heard of the blue light coral thing you were talking about. What an amazing experience. So glad you got to spend some time with your dad and make a trip to the beach. Leyla looks adorable peering out from behind that blanket.
Oh I would sooo love to see that bioluminescent (spell?) stuff. It sounds amazing. Kind of like the way you can't capture the northern lights on video or stills very well.
Things like that usually make me cry with the overwhelmingness of it all.
The girls are charming as ever the must have wrapped grandpa around their fingers. Tight fit, but enjoyable.
