For Grandpa Vaden

As many of you already know, my mother drove down to Texas when Chloe was born and brought with her many goodies. One of the things she brought with her was a rocking horse made especially for Chloe by grandpa Vaden. I think she first rode it several months back. She would ride the horse like a little lady with both legs on one side. Then she sort of lost interest for a while. Well, now her interest is back, and she loves to ride her "see-saw," as she likes to call it. In the first video, she's just pushing it around, but you can hear her saying see-saw.

And in this video, she says her name because she could see herself in the camera viewfinder.

When Miguel and I bought our house, the first order of business was to paint the trim to get rid of the god-awful peach and brown surrounding the windows. And indeed, that was one of the first things we started on. And now, almost two years later, we've almost finishing the painting. The second order of business was to get a new front door. Well, since then I've redone the kitchen, painted all three bedrooms, tore up carpet in 2 bedrooms, installed flooring in Chloe's room, and tiled my closet floor. What ever happened to getting a new door? It's not like we don't need one. The door we have is the original door from 1948, and it is not in good shape. It's not very well insulated at all. So today, I finally bought a new front door. And Miguel already talked to the neighbor, and their son is going to come over tomorrow and install it for $30 and a few beers. What a steal! I'm actually waiting for the first coat of paint to dry right now. I'll post a picture when it's all in. I think it's a very pretty door. I couldn't go with a door with very much glass in it because it faces the setting sun, and it gets REALLY hot in the living room because of that. I think I found the perfect door. And these pictures are of the exterior of the new door and the interior of the old door. The paint's still really shiny because I just took the photo right after putting on the second coat of paint. And yes, I did just write half a novel about my front door.

I love these little clips!! They give a sense of personality more than just the photos do. (I like the photos for clarity and detail however)

Good luck with the door! The tax refund must have stretched a little beyond the sewer.
How is that going?

I LOVE the clips! I like particularly how Chloe hangs onto the front of the seesaw with her toes. I concur with CS (once again) that you can see more of her personality in the videos.
She is getting tall! And her hair is sure filling in too.
I think the door is perfect! I love the window and I think it will look smashing. Nice contrast between the old and the new in that pic. Thanks for the fun videos!

Videos are fun and Chloe is funny. That see saw looks mighty inviting. I like how she tried to close the door on it. Good times.
