Well, I'm pretty tired, but I have to stay up a little longer. I tried working on one of my papers that's due next week, but I seem to be a little too tired to actually think what I'm writing about, so I'm just freestyling here.
I'm pretty excited about my new job prospect. Who knew you could get so excited about shrimp? I don't even like shrimp. I won't eat it and when I take them out of the water, they jump around and startle me. But what I do like is helping the environment. Among other things, this research center is trying to develop a feed that uses less or no fish biomass, which would make aquaculture of shrimp a lot more environmentally friendly and economical. It may not sound like it, but that's pretty exciting. I'm not naive enough to think that I'll be involved in any real research, but just being around it should allow for learning opportunities. I'll more than likely be involved in cleaning out tanks and putting chemicals in water and things like that. Anyway, I hope it works out. If it does, I'll be able to continue when I start school in the fall and set my own hours. They seem pretty lenient. The guy in charge told me I could work 40 hours a week if I want, but I don't have to work that much. Speaking of guys, I only saw one female in the whole place. I guess a lot of girls aren't interested in getting wet and smelling like stinky shrimp. I love the fact that I can roll out of bed and go to work and no one will even notice the lack of effort. Awesome. I could never work at a job where I needed to style my hair and put on make-up. I just can't do that more than once every couple months. Basically, I'm in the right field.
Well, I think I'm about done here. Better get to bed.

Hope the job is all you need it to be. Sounds like we might not be seeing you this summer, but in the interest of getting you back to the northwest permanently I say GOOOO!
An another note.. we rocket scientists have little to do in the hair care department as well. Ok at least this one doesn't.
The idea of just rolling out of bed and going to work- super, smelling like shrimp- no. Helping the environment yes, minimum pay not so much. Bolstering your resume great. Doing something you feel positive about priceless...
love you!
