Good and bad news

I don't really have time to deal with plugging in the camera and uploading pictures. I just have a little bit of news. First the good news. As of today, I have lost 20 pounds since mid-January! One more pound, and I'll be back in the 130's, which is right where I should be for my height and body build. The weight's coming off slowly, but it's definitely coming off. And I've done it all the good old fashioned way: lots of exercise. I don't diet. If I eat a lot, I just work out more to make up for it. It works out because I like to eat, and I like to exercise. It's a win-win situation.

Now for the not-so-good news. We've had to start giving Leyla formula. I pump milk 3 times during my work day, but last week my supply randomly cut in half, and I can't seem to get it back. I'm gone for 10 hours, which means I should have pumped about 10 ounces, but I have only been getting about 6 ounces if I'm lucky. This pretty much marks the beginning of the end. I'm not giving up without a fight though because I gave up too easy with Chloe, and I constantly had to take Chloe to the doctor's office, whereas Leyla has only had one sick visit so far. She just had her first fever a few weeks ago, which I attribute to teething issues. Anyway, I think her good health is because she's getting good nutrition from my milk. But I'm only willing to go so far to rescue my milk supply. I'm pretty much just going to keep pumping my 6 ounces a day and give her all that I can. I figure some is better than none. I used to have a big freezer stash of milk, but we've had to use it all up. That makes me sad, too.

I'm sure I have a lot more to write, but I need to get Chloe ready for bed.

Congrats on the continued weight loss. I vaguely remember what it felt like to lose weight... Actually, I remember very well, I also know how much harder I have to work now and get less results. Aging and slower metabolism another of natures lovely tricks. Anyway...
I'm glad you're still going to try and get whatever milk you can for Miss Leyla. I firmly believe that it can make a difference.
Hope the rest of your week goes well. I'll be thinking of you while I'm out "trekking" in Wyoming :0)

Congrats on the weight loss. Thats a big accomplishment and you should feel great. Celebrate with something chocolate (just kidding) Some new clothes perhaps? by the way, your house looks great. You have done so much to it.

OH YEAH, I'm so excited for you! That's great that you are almost to your goal weight. I've lost 18 and I'm far from my goal weight. We are oposite tho, I eat differently and don't work out, where as you are the other way. but that ROCKS for you! Good job!
That's sad about your milk, I would do the same thing that you are, try and try to the VERY end for my babies health! Keep trying!

We had to start giving Kaelyn formula when she was 3 weeks old! She just wasn't gaining enough weight on breast milk alone. I pump whenever I can, and if I can pump 4 ounces, it's a good day. So I am extremely envious that you've made it as long as you have. Congrats on the weight loss!
