Irish Twins

My aunt informed me that when siblings are really close in age, they are sometimes called Irish twins. I had never heard of that, but I guess people used to call her and one of my other aunts by that term. So here are a few pictures of my Irish twins wearing their matching dresses that grandpa Chuck picked out...

I've had a pretty lazy day so far. This morning I took the girls to the fabric store to look for clearance fabric. I decided that I should occassionally buy really cheap fabric and just keep it on hand so that when I want to make a quilt or something, I don't necessarily have to go buy a whole bunch of supplies at whole cost. That's the idea, we'll see how it actually works out. I'd like to make a few baby blankets and try to sell them on craig's list or etsy or something. Of course I've said that all before. We'll see if it actually happens this time. Anyway, the girls behaved themselves very well at the store and we casually strolled the aisles for about a half hour or so. Then we went to my friend's baby shower, where they were oddly well behaved again. The shower was at the church which is probably about a half mile walk, so I took them in the double stroller. I won't be doing that again the rest of the summer. We left the shower around 1:00, and when we got home, I had to strip down to my undies and lay on the couch for about 20 minutes because it was so freaking hot outside. The heat doesn't bother me that much when I'm at work, but it about did me in today. It's a lot more windy where I work, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Anyway, I've pretty much been just lying around and doing a few little chores here and there since we got home. I tried to do way too much last weekend and I decided that I needed to take it easy this weekend, and I seem to be doing a very good job of it.

Chloe has been watching her Wiggles video (also courtesy of grandpa Chuck) over and over today. This pictures illustrates the disarray of my house (shocker, I know), and documentation of Chloe falling asleep on the floor while watching the wiggles. This is only the 2nd time ever that she's fallen asleep outside of her crib (excluding the first few months of her life, of course).
And the last few pictures are of Miguel and his fish. He's been out fishing the majority of the day. Normally I get really upset when he spends a lot of time out fishing because I'm very protective of my time with him, and I always want him to be home with me. But he's been doing such a good job with the girls (he takes care of them while I'm at work), and tomorrow's fathers day, so he deserves a break. He brought home this black drum, and he was really proud and excited about it. He cooked it on his little bar-b-que pit out back, and I tried a piece. It was actually pretty good. And now Leyla's screaming her little head off, so I better wrap it up.

The dresses look great on those lil "Valdez" Twins. That fish looks like it has character. Glad it tasted good too. I bet Miguel had fun fishing. Tell him Happy Father's day from me.
Thanks for posting the fun pics.
