When I got home from work today, Miguel suggested we all go to the bayfront. I said ok since I haven't taken the girls to the beach since my dad came to visit, and that was a while ago. So we packed everything up, got the girls all lathered in sunscreen and dressed in their lil' swimmers and swim suits and headed out. I thought about taking the camera, but I remembered the battery was almost dead, so I left it at home. I really regret not taking it now, because the girls were so impossibly cute! For about the first 15-20 minutes, Chloe, Leyla, and I just sat in the wet sand watched the waves. Then Leyla discovered the sand and kept shoveling it into her mouth. I spent the next 10 minutes or so keeping an eye on Leyla, making sure she didn't put the larger bits of sea shell into her mouth. Chloe simply sat at the edge of the surf the entire time and let the water wash up on her legs and stared out at the waves. Leyla on the other hand, was crawling everywhere, putting everything in her mouth, and keeping me busy for sure. She would put her head down like a goat getting ready to ram something and crawl full speed out into the water. That girl is fearless. I don't know how many times I had to pick her up and bring her back to the shallower water. Anyway, we had a really nice time, and the girls really enjoyed themselves. (the picture is our bayfront at night)
In other news, Miguel and I took the girls in this morning for their well-child exams. I am happy to say, they are both developing just fine. Chloe's tipping the scales at 25 lbs, and Leyla is fast approaching at 16 lbs.
And I should be headed to bed by now, but I seem to have contracted another UTI, so I don't imagine I'll be getting a whole lot of sleep tonight. Right now I'm trying to chug a bunch of water to see if I can just flush it out of my system. I am really tired though, so I think I'll go try to get some sleep. I'll end with a couple pictures of the girls from earlier this week.
