Bad News for Anyone Who Loves Bad News

As you may be able to tell from my oh-so-clever rendition of a Modest Mouse album title, I have good news today! I'll start with my good news first. This morning I went to the university to try and test out of a computer literacy course. If I did not pass the test, I would have one more try to pass, and if I didn't pass it again, I'd have to take a graphic design course this fall. I was already signed up for the course, but I really did not want to have to take it because it would take up at least 6 hours a week, and I could be working and making money during those six hours instead of sitting in an art class. I love art, but I like to do it on my own time, and I don't like getting graded on my work. Anyway, the information sheet I had said that I had to get a 70 to pass the test. About half way into the test, I knew I'd be taking the test again, because it was pretty hard. But when the guy checked my score, he kind of chuckled and told me that I passed! Just barely! Apparently the cut off is actually 60, and I made a 61! So I think it's safe to say I'm no computer genius, but I'm computer literate enough. So that frees up 8 hours a week that I'll spend working at the shrimp research place instead of sitting in class, which means more money coming my way. Hooray!

Now for the second bit of good news. Yesterday Miguel received two phone calls asking him to come in for a job interviews. One was from a place that sells air compressors and stuff, and the other was from a local blasting yard. So this morning he had two job interviews, and he said both places want to hire him! So now we just have to wait for them to call back and let him know how much they're willing to pay him and he'll take the job with the better pay and/or hours. That's good news, but also a little disappointing because I wanted him to be able to come to Idaho with me in August. I was looking forward to showing him Idaho and having him meet some of my family. Oh well.

Also, Leyla has a few words. She says "hi", "dat?" (which means, what's that?), "yeah". Miguel says she can also say duck and kite, but I haven't heard that for myself yet.

I have some pretty cute videos I need to post, but it's getting late. I'll try to put them up this weekend.

Not one but two offers! That's a 200% improvement eh? Hope one of them works out and you can get a little cash flow going there.
