And the girls were very good today. Chloe was either outside charming everyone she met or inside quietly watching the wiggles. Leyla took a really long nap, and when she was awake, she just stayed next to me in the shade. They actually made the experience a little more pleasant. Here's a picture of them helping me to get ready for the sale last night.

Sale day!
So, I got up bright and early today (5:30) to set up for my first-ever yard sale. I didn't think I'd have much success since I waited until the night before to put an ad on Craig's list, and I could only put signs right close to my house since the girls were asleep when I put them up, so I had to keep the house in eyesight. But I guess that was enough! I didn't get my first customer until 7:45, but after that, I had enough business to get rid of everything but a few clothes and my infant car seat/stroller combo. At that point, it was 3:00 and really hot, so Leyla and I took down our signs (Chloe was napping) and I packed what was left up. I did end up with 4 cookies and 6 brownies left over, but I'll just give those out to my neighbors. And the best part? I made $105 profit! Not bad for a bunch of stuff I was just going to take to Goodwill! I think it was a pretty good experience for me. It never got stressful, and the heat was tolerable. I wouldn't mind doing it again sometime.

So now I'm $100 closer to my dream of new flooring for the living room. Hopefully in a couple months, the pink/maroon crusty carpet featured in all of these pictures will be a thing of the past.
On a different note, I think I have one of the most tolerant cats around. I'm not going to say she enjoys her encounters with the girls (you can tell by her body language she's not happy), but she tolerates them very well. I think Chloe's only been scratched 2 or 3 times. That's not bad considering she's been harassing Pistachio for 2 years. In the top picture, Leyla is putting almost all her weight on the cat. Eventually Pistachio will just run off.
Well, I think I'm going to go sit back and relax after a long day of selling all my crap to strangers. Chloe's sitting on the couch eating green beans out of a bowl like they're popcorn. I guess I'll go join her. Except I'm going to eat a popsicle.

Glad the sale day went well! And what cute lil helpers you had as well. Though the diaper deal with Chloe wasn't "quite" what I'd classify as cute:0)
