Jayden's Quilt

Ok, so I just talked to Jenette, and she received her baby's quilt today, so now I can post a picture of it. I did hand quilting on all the dark brown that looks like a wood grain. I used wonder under to draw out the letters and apply them to the brown fabric and then did a zig-zag stitch around the edges to prevent fraying. The trees are just sewn on with a raw edge about 1/4 inch around because I wanted them to have a frayed look. I desigend it with Jaron and Jenette's style in mind, and they tell me that they love it, so I guess I was successful.

In other news, I sent out my first job application today! I highly doubt I'll get the job, but you never know until you try. If I did get the job, I would be working for the US Forest Service as a fisheries technition.

The girls are doing pretty good today. We usually go shopping on Saturday morning, but I wasn't feeling up to the challenge today, so we've just beeing hanging out at home. We went outside a little bit, but they kept fighting over the swing and then Leyla got really tired, so that didn't last long. Maybe we'll try it again once it cools down a bit.

I guess that's it for now. I'm hungry.

The wood grain stitching is a very nice and subtle addition. You are such a clever beast!
It is beautiful, and Jayden will have a sweet heirloom from his auntie.
Nice composition and colors.

The border really frames it nicely. I 'm sure they DO love it! Way to go Missy. Hope you had a lovely day in spite of the tired girls, and who knows about the job. You'll never get a job unless you apply and you've gotta start somewhere.

Angel and I are anxious to see the quilt you make for baby Lincoln so we can find out what our style is. Jayden's looks really nice. I especially like to wood grain stitching.

That quilt is the bomb! Sorry to use a tired old phrase from my high school days, but it really is fantastic. Thank you so much!

Much love,
