Job Hunting

So far, I've sent out applications to jobs in Washington, Oregon, maybe Idaho (I don't remember) and today I dropped off my application to the one local position at the hatchery. I'll go back next week to meet with the guy and take a tour. I gotta tell you, that facility looks like the Taj Mahal compared to where I work right now. Very nice. It would be pretty amazing if I actually got a call back from any of the out-of-state jobs. I would be somewhat surprised if I didn't get a call back for the local job. The guy doing the hiring said he'd be calling 15 applicants for interviews, and I'm fairly confidant I would make the top 15, but as far as actually getting the job... hard to say.

And on Tuesday, I have my big saltwater fish lab practical, which is exactly what I should be studying for right now, but I'm getting tired of looking at pictures like this, and trying to remember names like Abudefdef saxitilis and Polydactylus octonemus (I believe this particular eel is Bascinithys bascanium). I need to learn 140 of those names by Tuesday. I have about 30 of them down right now. Yeah, I'm pretty much screwed. But I'm getting together with a couple of friends from class tomorrow to study, so hopefully that will help a bit.

And Miguel got some pretty cute pictures of the girls today. I'll try to post those within the next few days. The girls are doing very well. Leyla is as feisty and tough as ever, and Chloe has gone number 2 on the potty two mornings in a row! We'll get there eventually. Slowly, very slowly. I think after this test is over, and now that Miguel's home I'll probably be able to devote more time and energy toward potty training. Last time I tried, it was just too overwhelming.

Ok, well I really should get back to studying now.

Are those YOUR fingers holding that thing?
Oh the stress of all that latin name spelling. Whew!

You are the brainiac girl though and you always seem to pull it out in spite of crys to the contrary.

Hey... you are graduating in 7 weeks!!

I have to admit, I'm much fonder of pics of the girls than of your study subjects. I'm glad you're going to get together with some others to study. That should help get you jump started.
And two days with number 2 in the loo!!! WooHoo!!!
Can't wait to see new pics of the girls. Miguel does manage to get some cute shoots. He's pretty good with the camera. Glad to hear his shoulder is doing better.
(The word verification for this is "bilert" sounds like part of one of your fish names eh?)
