Ok, so I should really be studying right now, but I'm pretty excited about a job possibility. Today I found out that the Texas Parks and Wildlife fish hatchery (which is located right next to the shrimp lab I currently work at), will be hiring a new hatchery technician. It's entry level, but they pay is actually pretty good, and it has a complete benefits package. The best part is that I'm actually very qualified for the job. I talked to the guy who will be doing the hiring for about 20 minutes on the phone today, and I'm going to go in on Friday to turn in my application and resume and take a tour. These jobs are really competitive, so I won't be too let down if I don't get it, but I actually do have a fighting chance because of the course work I've taken, the experience I've gained at the shrimp lab, and my contacts at the university and at work (let's face it, it helps to know people).
If I did get this job, it would mean that after a few years, I should be qualified to apply for Biologist positions elsewhere in the country (i.e. the Pacific Northwest). Pretty sweet!

I'll be praying for you sweet pea! They would be lucky to get a hard worker like you. Good luck on your last test this week.
I'll be praying for you, too! Sounds like a great opportunity. I hope you get it!!
Oooo, I really hope you get it! That is awesome. They always say "third times the charm" so I will pray for you too :)
That would be great if you got that job. Good luck!! I hope everything else is going well for you.
Looks like you have a lot of people rooting for you.
Add me to the bunch!!
It does pay to know people, but it also pays to have good work record behind you which you do.
I know about "not getting your hopes up". It never really worked for me, because in truth if I really wanted it my hopes were up.
Good luck!!
Good luck-its always hard anticipating a job! I took Carter's 6 month pictures, and their first family pictures-but not their most recent. The lady who took them though did an awesome job-that's the style I lean towards taking now too. I just ordered photoshop-elements the new one 7.0, so I might be aksing you some questions :0).
