So, I'm just looking for excuses not to start reading my chemistry book right now. I was just about to get my highlighters out of my bag when I realized I hadn't done a post yet today. Heaven forbid a day go by that I don't ramble on about the boring details of my day in this blog. But you know what it is? I don't have Miguel here to talk to when something is on my mind, so I usually just end up writing it here. You'll see, when he gets home, I won't post as much. Or at least I won't write so much.
Anyway, I got a phone call from Miguel's dad today. That doesn't happen very often. He actually lives right here in Corpus, but I never go over there. I don't like dirt, and it's not the best place to go if you don't like dirt. Back to the point. He called and said that Miguel's mother was over at his house (she lives about 3 hours south of us with Miguel's step-dad) and she wanted to see the girls. My mother has seen the girls more often than Miguel's mother, and she's 2000 miles away. So, this is a rare occasion. I put the girls in the car and headed over. And it was actually a pleasant experience. The grass has started to fill in, so there was less dirt, which means less problems with my little bit of OCD. Plus, there was a little kitten and two dogs. I love kittens and dogs, and so does Leyla. Chloe was more interested in the ball and coloring with her cousins. Miguel's dad and half-sister couldn't get over how different I looked. I guess I haven't seen them in a while and I've lost some weight and changed my hair. Leyla spent most of the time walking as fast as her little legs would carry her all over the yard and yelling in gibberish at anything she found interesting (dog, cat, tree, etc.). I wish I had taken my camera. I might actually go visit Miguel Sr. a little more often. The girls really seemed to enjoy themselves, and it was actually a nice break for me.
Other than that, I got an 87 on my Ichthyology test. Considering the highest score was a 91, and he said he's going to add 5-6 points onto everyone's grade, I guess I did ok. And Chloe just started whining and crying. Better go see what this is all about.
One more thing. My Ichthyology class seems to have an abnormally high amount of pompous asses. I don't know why, it just does. I was standing outside my professor's office with one of these full-of-himself gents and there was a job posting on the bulletin board on the wall we were standing next to. The posting was for the lab that I work at with Dr. Samocha. Mr. Fancy Pants points at it, and says "I do research with him." So I say, "Really? Because I work there. What research are you doing?" Knowing full well that he did not do research with Dr. Samocha because I've never seen him and we only have one study going on right now. He then kind stammers something about how he actually hasn't had time to call yet, but Dr. Samocha knows that he's interested in doing research. Sometimes it just feels good to knock down an overinflated ego a notch or two.

It sounds like you are rocking it in school. Good for you. Your girls are so cute. I can relate with the dry erase marker my son is way in to pens and my couch took a beating tonight.

Glad you had a nice visit with the other g&g. I'd love to have seen Leyla running around enteracting with the dogs and such.
I LOVE that you casually put the pompous dude in line! People like that drive me nuts.
