It's Christmas Time!

It's officially Christmas time at our house! Yesterday I put up my first outdoor holiday decor:It's not much, but sometimes less is more. The picture doesn't really do it justice. In person, the garland looks really pretty and sophisticated. I bought the plain garland for under $3.00 and added the ornaments and lights from stuff I already had around the house. Same goes for this wreath. It looks a lot better in person, and the supplies cost around $5.00:If I have time, I'd like to make some stockings to hang on the wall by the tree. But that's about the extent of my holiday decorating. I had lots of fun putting it all together, but now it's back to the daily grind. I finally started studying my latin fish names, and it's coming along very well. I should be ready for my test by Tuesday.

I got a few pictures of Leyla this weekend. Chloe's so active and all over the place, it's hard to get pictures of her. So here's what I got-- Leyla sitting in a box and Leyla reading with daddy. She really likes books, especially books with pictures of dogs. I wish I could handle having a dog because she loves them so much. But I know I can't. Considering what happened with Lily, I think it's going to be a very long time before I can take on the cost and responsibility of a dog again. I really miss Lily. I hope she's having fun with her new family. Anyway, here are those pictures...

Ahh! Look at that angel baby in the box! Looks almost like she's waitning to be delivered someplace special. And her hair is getting long!
I love the garland and wreathe. I think they look smashing and so inexpensive. You clever beast you!
Good luck on the studies. Just a few more weeks and it's all over!

Oh, and nice Christmasy blog background. Did you use one of Gordon's pics for the background?

I think your decorations look great!

You are way ahead of me. I have never done any decorating for christmas where I live alone.

I too love that pictures of Leyla in the box! Such sweet a curly haired thing.

I love your Christmas decorations. We were gone over Thanksgiving and I'm still working on mine.

Glad you got into the holiday spirit. I'm having trouble with it myself. We only have the stockings hung on the mantle so far and that's it. I love your fromt door!! I have never seen it before that I remember. I looks lovely framed in your creative garland. I think the craft gene mostly skipped me in the family!
