Miguel left for Florida early this morning. I don't really have anything more to say about that, but I needed to write it because sometimes I need to look up dates of when things like this happened, and it always helps if I've mentioned it in my blog.
Yesterday I avoided going for a run because it was so windy. Then I saw on the news last night that the wind isn't letting up any time soon, so I put the double stroller in the trunk, packed the girls up, and we drove to a nice, wide stretch of sidewalk that follows a bay, which means the only traffic I have to watch out for is from a few bayfront home driveways. And let me tell you, pushing a double wide stroller against 30 mph wind is hard! What a workout! I never had to stop and walk, but I only was able to run a little over 3 miles. But, I did it, and hopefully the weight I put on in the past couple months will start coming off (assuming I keep up the running, of course). Even if it doesn't, the girls sure liked it. Chloe pointed out every flag along the way and said "Look mom! It's the circus!" And Leyla fell asleep. It's more fun for me too because I get to hear the funny things Chloe says and Leyla will crank her neck so she can look back and me and give me a big, dimpled smile. I can't help but smile when she does that.
So I guess I'm going to head back to work on Monday. I don't really want to. I'm thinking about just going half time for the first week. That way I can kind of ease the girls into being at a sitter's house for most the day. One reason I wanted to wait until monday to go back to work is because when I talked to the Parks and Wildlife dude last week, he said that he was expecting to hear back about the decision on the job I applied for this week. Well, it's Saturday and still no word. Imagine that. And I know that at this point, even if they did want to hire me, I wouldn't be able to start unitl March because of the way their payroll works. So it's back to the shrimp lab for me. Which is fine, it just doesn't pay very well. It's hard to be away from the girls for almost 10 hours a day and only have about $130 per week (after childcare) to show for it.
I dunno. For once, I actually wish I could just stay at home with the kids all day, which is quite a new feeling for me.

After your last two posts I am officially jealous. And Leyla looked like she was doing "the Lisa Turtle" dance in that video. I don't know if you remember that from Saved by the Bell but there was a dance contest and Lisa kicked her TV and broke her ankle so her dance partner dumped her and Screech took her and they did "the Lisa" and won. Haha... I know how pathetic that sounds that I remember that but Saved by the Bell was the coolest show ever, wasn't it?
That run sounds like a great workout. You got your exercise, all three of you got your vitamin D dose for the day. And Chloe got to see the circus while Leyla went to sleep. Heaven....
It IS tough to go back to work. There's no doubt about it. Wish there was someway you didn't have to.. But, I haven't found any working magic wands lately. But when I do!
