We went to the beach today. Good times! I'm glad Shane was able to drag me off my PMS butt and get me out. It was funny, because when it comes to water, Chloe is usually a huge chicken, while Leyla is fearless. But when we got to the beach, Chloe was all over the place, pretending to swim, and Leyla would not let go of me or get off my lap. It was crazy.
However, that didn't last. Chloe was still doing great, and then a crab pinched her. I didn't see it, but Dylan did. She stood up suddenly screaming about a crab. Dylan said there was a 5 inch crab hanging off her swimsuit, and she looked down, saw the crab, grabbed it and threw it in the water while screaming. Needless to say, it took a lot of persuasion to get her back into the water.
In the meantime, Leyla decided she was ok to be in the water. And she also took up surfing. Yup. My little surfer girl. We put her on the board in the shallow water and she stood up all on her own and glided across the water for about 15-20 feet. She has really good balance!
And I finally got my first shot on a surf board, too. It was so fun! I could really get into that.
Yesterday we looked at new cars. I keep having stupid stuff go wrong with my car and I'm tired of it. It costs too much to get anything fixed since it's a VW. I can get a brand new Kia that has a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty that gets better gas mileage than my car and won't cost me a whole lot more than I'm already paying in loan payments. So... I may do that. While we were at the dealership, we took advantage of the photo ops...
And last weekend we were invited to Shane's uncle's house. They have a nice little pool in the back yard. Leyla was fearless as usual. Chloe- not so much. But she was willing to get this deep after about a half hour...And Leyla was just taking it easy...
And the other thing we've got going on is the aquarium. We decided to start up an aquarium, and I insisted upon a salt water. I have a plan for one with a sump and anemones, etc. But that's going to be a long ways off. But I found a really good deal on a tank set-up, so I decided to start a fish-only tank for Chloe's birthday. Here are some photos of our progress:
I added a few shrimp from work to help get the tank through the nitrogen cycle. And the last picture is our first fish. I love it.
I'm tired, Time for bed.

Wow!
that was a lot of photos and updates! Love the pics of Leyla surfer dude...Fun pics at the Kia dealership with the crazy toy cut outs (in one it looks like Chloe is standing right in that guys bum.)
The fish tanks should be a fun ongoing project.
It was GRAND to see a post!
Thanks :0)
Well since I am Facebook free I am thrilled you had more to say and it overflowed here.
The pics of Leyla on the surfboard are sooo cute.
If anyone has the knowhow to keep a salt water tank going it should be you. I'm a tad jealous. You know I love my fish. Keep showing as to goes.
You should put up pics of your cute kitchen BTW.
Nice update. Hadn't been in awhile. Must be fun to live so close to the beach. Nice memories for the girls.
