Happy Birthday to My MOM!!

Happy belated birthday, mom!

Here is a random post covering the past month or so.

Leyla was a runner for Halloween. A runner with a silly face.

Leyla loves to wear boots. She's not a big fan of pants. I don't blame her.

Leyla and her Shanie.

The annoying cat had four kittens. One didn't make it. :(
We were able to find homes for the remaining three.

I think Leyla looked absolutely hilarious wandering around in that tank top and boots.

I admit, this picture was staged. But this is what they were doing when I went in their room. I went to get my camera, and they stopped and separated, so I made them pose.

And this is what has been consuming all my free time the past few months. It's a baby blanket for a friend who is due any day now. It's my first embroidery project. I had a lot of fun working on it.

Halloween Again.

... And Chloe was a princess.

Front and back of the baby blanket. I really like that fabric.

The fairy.

The dragonfly.

The corner and stitching I used to finish the edge.

Chloe was giving me a lame smile, so I told her to show her teeth. This is what I got.

Chloe's Halloween princess attire. Notice her tiara says "birthday girl." Yeah, I really went all-out this year.

Taking care of Pistachio.

And that's about it. Halloween was fun. I didn't make any fun or unique costumes this year. Just couldn't fit it in. The new job is going pretty well. I still have a lot of reading to do, but I'm starting to get things all figured out. I've been playing on a co-ed softball team with work. We're absolutely TERRIBLE, but it's fun to play. I'm really looking forward to Christmas. The girls actually have a pretty good idea of what's going on, I have a little bit more money to get presents, and best of all, Shane and I and the girls get to spend a week in Idaho during New Years! I'm so excited. I can't believe it's been 2 years since I've been to Idaho. And I'm so excited to introduce Shane to Idaho and to my family. I wish we could bring Sissy and Dylan, but it's just not possible right now. We're hoping we can do a road trip this summer. I would love to take everyone to Redfish Lake. That would be so fun. But we'll see. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another awesome tax return..

I really should go to the gym in the morning, which means I need to get ready for bed now. Hopefully I'll post sooner next time, but no promises.

Yay!! Love seeing the Texas girls!

I'm betting you have been crazy busy adjusting to the new job, and it seems only logical to not make super time invested Halloween costumes. You have some classics on your hands anyway. Miss Leyla looks a bit like a rodent runner in those shots.

The quilt looks beautiful! Did you make up the embroidery pattern yourself? Looks also like tons of quilting. I don't know who Zoe is, but hopefully she'll appreciate it one day.

Co-ed baseball sounds grand. I loved to play baseball and volleyball back when there were places I could play them. (and a body that was willing)

Super excited to see you all soooon!

A summer trip would be amazing, too. Hopefully one day

Ohhh!!!
Thank you! :0)
I too, am a big fan of the super boot/shirt look. And think the Halloween photos are super fun!
Looks like they had a good time and that's what really counts righ?
The quilt is GORGEOUS - and I"m glad you had fun making it.
I don't care if you did make the girls re-stage their activiy. It's cute to see them together. Love the teeth photo - not quite the grampa V death mask?
Thanks so much for the photos it means a lot to me.
The only thing that would make it better would be a shot of you in there too :0)
I'm getting pretty darn excited about the visit to Idaho myself.
Love you Sweetpea!
