Long Day

It's only 3:00, but it's been a long day. Some of you may remember that shortly after Miguel left for Indiana, Chloe was admitted to the hospital. Of course, she's fine, but the neurologist wanted to check up on her in 2-3 months. Today was her check-up. It was at 9:00, and we had to get there 15 minutes early. Needless to say, we didn't get out of there til 10:45. And they wanted a pee sample, so when I left, Chloe had this little plastic bag attached to her privates that I had to take back once it was full. While we were waiting in the various waiting rooms for the doctor, I realized that I was exhausted. We got home around 11:00, which is Chloe's nap time, so I made her a bottle and put her to bed, and as soon as she calmed down, I headed to bed, too. She was down for about 2 hours, and I think I got about an hour of sleep. When she woke up, her little dress was all damp and her diaper was full, but the pee bag only had a trickle of pee in it. I wasn't about to leave it on and get pee all over another clean outfit, so I took it off and we drove back to the hospital to drop the pee sample off. Of course, they called me back and told me it wasn't enough pee. So I made arrangements to go get some more bags tomorrow. I'm through with driving today. Luckily, I just got a call and they said they didn't need the sample after all. Good thing, because I was not looking forward to another trip over there.

Chloe seems to have set a new sleep schedule for herself. She takes one nap from 11:00 to about 1:00, and then she stays up til bedtime. This is working out great for me, because I can put her to bed at 6:30 or 7:00 depending on how long her nap is, and she doesn't get up til 7:00 in the morning. That gives me a lot of uninterrupted time to work on my kitchen during the evening. Last night I got all the cement board cut out and fastened to the plywood. I also was able to cut about half of the tiles for the countertop. I think tonight I should be able to get them all cut and may even be able to start setting them. But I have to cut 4 tiles with rounded edges for where the sink goes in, which means I have to use my little hand saw, and that takes a lot of time, so I may have to save the thinset for tomorrow. Considering I only have about 4 hours a day to work on it, it's really coming along nicely. It'll be so nice when it's finished. And thank goodness I'm through cutting wood and cement board; no more sawdust or silica dust in the kitchen. That silica dust is bad news. I did most the cutting outside, but it still gets inside.

Anyway, this picture was taken a few minutes ago. Chloe likes to play with the dishes and put them in and take them out of the dish dryer. She's playing with a spoon in this pic.

No wonder you're exhausted! It made me tired just reading about it. Sounds like it is indeed progressing quite nicely. You're amazing!
