Decisions

I know most people who actually look at my blog come here to check out cute pictures of Chloe. After all, that's why I started the blog in the first place. I didn't know I'd end up writing a small novel every single day. But when I don't have a job or anything to study for, this is what happens. So here are a couple of pictures of Chloe taken just minutes ago...

This morning I had a great idea. I fell asleep with wet hair and when I woke up my hair was kind of wavy and pieced together. It looked like crap, but it made me think, hey, maybe I can grow dreadlocks. Here's my reasoning. I loved my short hair, but I'm way too cheap to keep it up. I had to get it cut at least once a month to keep the look that I wanted. That really adds up, and I don't go to expensive hairdressers either. So after I had Chloe I decided I was going to grow it out because I knew after I had her I would want to be able to pull my hair back in a pony tail. I can do that now with the help of lots of clippies, and that's what I do... every... single... day. I've tried to style it a few times, but I've pretty much trained it to go into a pony tail and it won't really do anything besides that. So today I realized if I can get it do go into dread locks, I won't have to worry about getting it cut, or styling it, and instead of looking like a lazy bum, I can look like a lazy bum hippie. I'd rather look like a hippie chick than a tired mom who's completely let herself go. So I'm going to do some research about how to start dreads for white people when I'm done with this post.

Other things... Pistachio is running out of places to hide from Chole. She's getting taller and can stand up as long as she has something to hold on to, even if it's just a wall. So if Pistachio's tail is hanging off the window ledge, Chloe can grab it. If she's on the couch cushion, Chloe can grab her feet, tail, whatever. Right now Pistachio can jump over the baby gate and get into the kitchen if she's had enough. But once I'm done with my remodeling, the baby gate will be gone. Poor kitty.

Speaking of my remodeling, last night I got the neighbor boys to come over and test my sink in the hole I cut for it. It fits perfectly. So I spent all last night cutting cement board because I only bought one piece. For some reason when I did my calculations for supplies I thought that I'd have more than enough cement board with just one piece. Well, I was determined to make that one piece work, because if I didn't, I'd have to borrow someone's truck again to get another piece. So I made it work. I spent a few hours scoring and snapping and measuring and now I have what looks like a puzzle on my countertop. Once I got all the pieces cut, I went to bed. It's always a good idea for me to get a good night's sleep when working on something like this, because I usually wake up with a good idea. When I woke up this morning, I realized that if I just cut the piece of cement board in half before I tried to put it in my car, it would fit just fine. I decided that would be a good idea because the less seams I have on my substrate, the better. So basically all the time I spent last night cutting and measuring was for nothing. Oh well. Chloe and I already went and got the new piece of cement board this morning. I took my scoring tool with me to Home Depot and cut it in half right in the middle of the store. Like I said before, I'm not going to post any more pictures along the way, but when I'm finished, I'll make a super before and after post. It'll be amazing, you won't believe your eyes.

I just put Miss Chloe down for a nap, so I'm going to get started on my dreadlock info hunt.

Oh dear! I'm not so sure about the dreadlock idea... I have two white kids in classes right now that have dreadlocks. They are very nice kids, but they smell funky and it's not like they don't shower...But, I know you will do what you do :0) Sounds like the counter is progressing nicely.
Love the photos as always. Makes me feel not so far away somehow!
