Back to school

It is so great to be back in school. I'm really excited for my invertebrate class. I was kind of worried about the 4.5 hour labs twice a week, but it turns out we'll be taking field trips almost every single lab. It sounds like a lot of fun. We'll be going out to the seashore and wading around and diving to gather inverts. And since the labs are longer in the summer than they are in the fall and spring, it means we'll be able to take it easy and have plenty of time to get collect our specimens. We're going to take a boat trip and everything. And the best part is all the field trips take place during our regular lab time, so I don't have to worry about trying to find a babysitter for Chloe since she'll already be at day care (much unlike my vert class last semester). And so far, I like the teacher's teaching style. He's old school, which I prefer. I HATE powerpoint. I have had so many professors who rely on their powerpoints way too much. They cram tons of information on one powerpoint and rush through it using the excuse that you can always go online and look up what you couldn't write down. It's a horrible way to teach, and it's really hard to learn that way. This guy just sits at the front of class and talks and writes down important terms on the chalk board. That type of teaching works a lot better for me. So, my first day back went really well and I'm looking forward to the next 5 weeks.

And of course, Chloe went back to school today, too. Her teacher said she was a good baby just like she's always been. Another nice thing about daycare is I don't have to figure out what to feed her for breakfast and lunch. I just give Chloe a bottle right before we leave the house to tie her over, and they take care of all her meals while she's there. She had ravioli for lunch today. And, they got her to drink juice, which I can never do. She refuses to drink juice when I'm around. Or maybe she just doesn't like the juice I buy. Who knows.

I must say, I don't know how stay at home moms do it. Last week just about killed me. I was so incredibly bored. My boredom was pushing me close to a depressed state, as well. I haven't felt like that in a really long time. Some people don't understand how I can raise a child and go to school and take care of a house and pay all my bills by myself, but I really can't have it any other way. I have to have a completely full plate or else I go nuts. I really hope I can get a decent job once I graduate. I should finish up my classes this time next year. I'm thinking maybe I'll get married next summer. Once I'm done with school, I have no reason not to get married. And if I do it pretty soon after I finish school, I should be able to be in much better shape since I have a gym and daycare at my disposal when I'm at school. So maybe I'll get married next July and start the job hunt in August.

Well, I have some reading to do, and now is the perfect time since Chloe's taking a nap.

You are related to your gramma Vaden. She has always been a woman who did 7 thousand things and then just one more. I'm glad your classes are going to be fun. And a wedding in Texas in the summer sounds like a HOT time! :0)
