This morning I woke up to the sounds of heavy rain and flashes of lightening. Chloe woke up at about 7:15, so that's when I actually dragged my butt out of bed. I gave her her bottle and when she finished, I tried to get a picture of the street. The pictures I got didn't focus very well, but here they are:

That's the view of my street from my kitchen window. The street is of course under all that water. It's pretty cool to walk outside after it's been raining like this. You can hear hundreds of frogs croaking. It sounds like you're in a swamp or something. It's kind of eerie, because the frogs are pretty much all you can hear.
It's been raining all morning, so I thought I'd check the radar to see if it's going to clear up any time soon. Here's a picture of what I found. I put a little pink star on Corpus Christi.

Looks like I'll be staying inside all day today. Luckily, there's no class today because of the holiday. All those green boxes indicate a flood watch. Luckily, our house sits high enough that we haven't had any trouble with our house getting flooded. If we had a leak in our roof, it would have become very apparent within these past three days, so it's a relief to know our roof doesn't leak. And our new kitchen door is doing great! With the old door, I used to get water in the kitchen every time it rained like this. Not a lot, but it did leak. The new door doesn't leak at all.
Well, I don't know what Chloe's problem is this morning. When she woke up, I gave her a whole bottle, and about 20 minutes later, she had a bowl of cereal with applesauce. But she just kept whining and crying, so I had to put her back to bed. She woke up at about 7:00, and I had to put her back to bed at 8:30. Who takes a nap at 8:30 in the morning? I hope she just didn't sleep well because of the storms. If that's not the case, she's probably g

etting sick. The poor thing has this terrible bump on her inner thigh. It's in her diaper area, but it's on her leg. I don't know where it came from, but it's all red and inflamed. It's had a pussy center the past few days. Last night it was about to erupt on its own, so I gently touched the skin around it and a lot of puss came out. It looked a little better after that, and it had a lot less puss this morning. So I guess she has a right to be grumpy. It looks extremely painful.
Anyway, I took this picture of her at dinner yesterday. I liked the positioning of the green bean on her nose. She'd look Hindu if the bean were positioned just a little bit higher. Goofy girl.

You were having crazy storms and we were having crazy heat - some kind of mix up eh? I love the pics of Chloe and her food encounters. She does love to mess with stuff huh?
