Torture followed by a trip to the beach

I need a swimsuit for my invert class. I haven't been swimsuit shopping since long before I had Chloe, and that swimsuit was a little purple bikini. Needless to say, after one and 3/4 pregnancies, that swimsuit just doesn't cut it anymore. I'll never be able to wear a swimsuit that shows my tummy because my stomach is completely covered in stretch marks, and they don't go away. So my mission today was to find a swimsuit that covers all the necessary areas for a 6 month pregnant woman. I started at Target, and it was torture. Swimsuit shopping is horrible enough in and of itself, but trying on swimsuits while you're 6 months pregnant is awful. I didn't find anything and I had to go to my doctor's appointment, so I got that out of the way, and I went back on the hunt. I went to a sporting goods store because I also needed to get a pair of flippers. Lucky for me, all their swimwear was 50% off, and I found a great combination of a tank swim top and a skirt bottom that totally covers everything necessary, plus I got a cover-up skirt and a long tank top for when my belly gets so massive that the suit no longer covers. That was a good find. But I really need to get a little sun before my lab next week. So I'm thinking of taking Miss Chloe to the beach today. I don't spend nearly enough time outside with her. I'll definitely take pictures if we go. I think today would be a good day because there's some cloud cover, but no risk of rain.

Speaking of rain, that storm jacked up some very important stuff. Last night I tried to mow the lawn, but my mower kept quitting like it didn't have any gas in it. I think what may have happened is somehow some rain water may have gotten in my gas can and I put it in the mower thinking it was regular gasoline. That's the only thing I can figure. And if that's the case, I've got to figure how to get the water/gas mix out of the mower so I can put normal gas in. And if that's not the problem, I don't know what the hell to do. And the transmission on my car is acting up a bit. It doesn't go into gear nearly as smoothly as it did before all the street flooding. And I can only put it into 3rd gear when I'm at the perfect rpm. If I try to go into 3rd at a lower rpm, it either won't go or it's a rough shift. I saw on the national news today that Corpus Christi has more than a foot of excess rain for this time of year.

Well, I started this blog much earlier today. Chloe and I did go to the beach today, and it was a lot of fun. I bought a pack of Lil Swimmers diapers before we went so she could play in the water. She had so much fun. She loved the water and the waves. Everytime a wave hit us, she burst into a fit of giggles. It was really nice to get outside and enjoy the beach. Here are a few pictures I took:

Check out the little swimsuit. I love the bikini top. It's not functional at all, but it's cute. I greased her all up with super sun screen before we left, and it looks like I did a good job. I just hope her scalp didn't get burned because she refuses to wear anything on her head. But I only had on spf 8 sunscreen, and I didn't get any color at all, so her head's probably ok.

I'm starting to get a little worried about Miguel. I've been trying to call him for the past two days, and I'm not getting any answer. It's very unusual to not hear from him on Friday because he always calls me on Friday to let me know how much he got paid so I know how much money I can take from the account. I hope he's ok. I don't have the number of anyone else up there to call, and that's a problem. Assuming he's ok, I need to get a few phone numbers of his co-workers and or boss in case of emergencies. Well, I hope he's ok

Buying a swimsuit is ALWAYS torture! But, I have to admit that being 6 months PG does make it about the worst. Glad you found something to work - and on sale too!!:0) I'm glad you finally heard from Miguel. That is kind of worrisome when you don't hear and they are far away. Looks like Miss Chloe had fun at the beach! She is standing all the time now huh?
