Even more before and after

I think I might be obsessed with before and after pictures. Oh well. I can think of worse obsessions. I replaced the ceiling fan in my project room a few nights ago...

Ooh, an action shot.

Not only was the old fan super ugly, it smelled like something was burning when the lights were on, and the motor was pretty weak. I still have to mess with the new fan because it has some wobbling issues. But it has a really powerful motor. I kind of wish I'd put this fan in my bedroom. Maybe I'll get another one for my room and put my bedroom fan in the piano room since the light in that fan doesn't work at all.

And yesterday I painted 1/3 of the floor in my project room...

Mmm, it looks like the floor is made of chocolate now. Yum (and Pistachio likes it, too). I have an awesome bamboo rug that'll go over the floor once I'm all done.

I tidied up my bedroom last night and realized that if I just put up a shower curtain over my open closet, it would really make my room a much more pleasant place to hang out. The previous owners had the washer and dryer hookups installed in the master bedroom. That's kind of weird, but I understand why they did it that way- there is really no other place to put them. Therefore, my bedroom closet consists of a washer and a dryer, which has been serving as a small storage unit since it broke a few weeks after its first birthday (right after the warranty ran out, of course). So I did my grocery shopping at the super wally world this morning and I got a curtain rod and shower curtain...

Detail

I have a lot more to do to my bedroom, but that's a good start, right? I got the little blue hanger things because my new bedspread has blue in it. The curtain has little eyelets in it. I like fabric with eyelets. And I figure I can always dye the white fabric later.

The plan for today is to make a triple layer chocolate cheesecake. I saw the recipe for it in a magazine several months ago, and I've really been wanting to make it, but chocolate is kind of expensive, so I never bought the supplies. Well, I decided that I could make it and take half of it to my neighbor as a thank you for taking care of my yard this week. That's the least I can do.

Now for something completely different, I think I finally figured out how to study. After 4 years of college, I finally figured it out. Powerpoint! Once my enemy, powerpoint is now my best friend. I'm a visual learner, so if I make powerpoint slides with pictures on each slide, I have a lot better chance of remembering what I study. Index cards are convenient because I can carry them around all over the place, but powerpoint works so much better. I only have to spend about half the amount of time studying because I can associate the information with a picture, which works a lot better for me. And now that I have a functional laptop, I can just take my computer to school with me and study whenever. It's not nearly as light as index cards, but it sure does work better. I used the powerpoint method for my invert lab practical and the final test. I got a 99 and a 94. I used index cards for the first two tests, and I got a 76 and a 78. Coincidence? I think not.

I just finished having lunch with Chloe, which is always an adventure. She had a turkey and cheese sandwich with pineapple chunks and graham cracker. She also had half a banana. To my surprise, the only thing that ended up on the floor was the graham cracker and her milk cup. Now she's exploring the living room, and I need to get started on washing dishes so I can have a clean kitchen before I start making my cheesecake.

Nice work! On the before and after, the tests, and Miss Chloe eating without tossing everything onto the floor.
The cheesecake sounds pretty tasty. You are on a roll :0)
