Last day off

School starts tomorrow! Good thing I came back home when I did. I had a lot of stuff to get done, and I haven't finished it all, but it's getting close. Today Chloe and I went and paid for a semester's worth of daycare, dropped off some clothing donations, recycled our plastic bags, and bought some brown dye. I had a great idea for the daybed. First of all, I acquired the daybed from the owners of the frame shop I used to work at. Mrs. Benning really wanted me to have it, so I took it. She gave me the bedding that went with it, which was a little outdated for my taste. So today I had a great idea. I was going to dye the bedding from the faded rose pink color to a dark brown to go with my room. I spent an hour or two doing to whole dye process, and now I have a bedspread that's the exact same color as the carpet in my living room. In case I haven't drilled the fact into the ground, I hate that color. It's a nasty purple-maroon color. Sadly, my dying idea was not a success. Luckily it only set me back about $2.00. Would have been great if it worked.

After dropping a substantial amount of money off at Chloe's daycare, I realized Chloe will probably only attend daycare until the baby's born. I paid for the entire semester. I was thinking that she would still go to daycare while my mother-in-law is here taking care of Leyla. Then I got to thinking, and from what I know about Miguel's mother, I realized she would probably want Chloe to stay here with her during the day. So I called Miguel, and he confirmed it. He said there's no way she'd approve of Chloe being in daycare while she's here. So I'm thinking I'll just have her daycare hold onto the money as a deposit to hold two spots for Chloe and Leyla for the spring semester. And then I'll be that much ahead for that semester. It's going to be SOO expensive to have both of them in daycare. Thank god I only have to do that for one full semester. I may try to find a babysitter for my last two classes that I'll take in the summer semester.

Tonight's nebulizer treatment was another fiasco. After holding her down for the 10 minutes it takes for the medicine to run out, I called my wonderful uncle Rick to see if he had any suggestions. Of course he did. He matter-of-factly told me to give it to her while she's asleep. I didn't know you could do that, but as he said, she's still breathing while she's asleep, so there's no reason why I can't. I'll have to give that a try tomorrow night. I just hope the sound of the machine doesn't wake her up.

Ok, I just tried to bake a half a dozen cookies with the oven off. Needless to say, it's not working very well. I already made two dozen and I was debating whether I should bake the rest of the dough or put it in the freezer, where I will inevitably eat it raw instead of making more cookies later. I decided to make the rest of the cookies, but I guess I'd already turned the oven off earlier and didn't notice. Brilliant.

Ooh, today I hot-glued little rocks and seashells onto magnets. We had this random door floating around the room and getting in my way, so I decided to spray paint it with the same bronze I used on the a/c vents. The door's metal, so I put my magnets up and hung random pictures. This picture doesn't do the set-up justice at all. It looks really cute in person. For some reason, the pictures just look blah. I put the funky fish-eye mirror with the eagle on top up to deflect negative chi from the a/c intake on the other side of the room. I still need to attach the doors to the white cabinet. Anyway, if you're ever a guest in my house, this is where you'll be staying if I ever get the bed moved in there.
Oh! And I made some ceiling fan pulls. My freaking fan didn't come with any pulls, and I couldn't find any at a decent price that I liked, so I found some sculpy in my craft box and made the the little star fish and normal fish. I think I need to paint them, but other than that, they're pretty cute. And they get the job done.

Ok, I've put it off long enough. I need to go wash the dishes and get ready for bed.

Brilliant!I guess that's why Rick gets paid the big bucks. that should take a little stress off.
The room looks fantastic! Can't wait to test it out in 5 weeks! What a great idea to use the metal door as a decorative element. Those magnetic board are all the rage, and you have a lovely, bronze giant. And the pulls are fun. I think you are going to want to paint them though, knowing you:0)
