My clever little girl

I have a big desk in my piano room. On one side, I have an old recliner that I'm supposed to sit in while using my computer. On the other side of the desk, I have a fold up chair that hurts my back, which is where I usually use my computer. Since I use a laptop, it's easy to move it around, but I can't move it away from the desk because the cord to the internet isn't very long. Anyway, I was using the computer in the folding chair, and the next thing I knew, Chloe's head popped up on the other side of the desk. Apparently she has figured out how to get into the recliner. Before getting in the chair, she had put her toga on. I got my camera once she was already in the chair. Sadly I don't have any pictures of her getting into the chair, but here are some progression photos once she was already in it.

So now I need to move that recliner, because I keep a lot of bills and other things I don't want Chloe to touch on that desk, and now she can reach everything while she stands on the chair.

I was able to mow my lawn last night without too much trouble. It was longer than I usually let it get since I was gone for a while, so it took about an hour to get the whole thing done. It was nice to get outside though. And now that I have all the parts for my sprayer, I'm going to spray the weeds in back. I thought about doing it last night, but we were supposed to get tons of rain today from the tropical storm and I didn't want the round-up to get washed off. Of course, we only got a tiny sprinkle this morning and it hasn't rained since. But it's been overcast all day, which means I can actually leave my blinds open and let natural light in without getting my house all hot.

During Chloe's nap today I got a lot of work done on my guest bedroom. At first I wasn't sure if I'd be able to fit all my stuff into 1/3 of the room, especially since the bikes take up a lot of room, but I've pretty much done it. Now I have a lot of painting to do. I have to paint the other 2/3 of the room- both the walls and floor. I have to paint this exterior door we have hanging out in there. It's metal, so I'm going to paint it a nice color and put it behind a dresser and get some magnets and hang pictures on it. Should be interesting. And I'm going to spray paint the air intake for the a/c since it's hideous and I don't feel like trying to replace it. And I've got to paint the small dresser that's in the room. Thank goodness Miguel brought me home that gas mask. I'm hoping to get some good work done tonight once Chloe falls asleep. Once I get all the cleaning and painting and organizing done, I can start the fun part. I have all sorts of stuff I've gathered up for decorating the room, and I think it's going to be really nice. It's just going to take a lot of work to get to the point where I can start decorating.

I saved up all the money that I received for my birthday and I want to use it to get an ipod shuffle. I want to be able to listen to good music while I work out at the school fitness center, because music makes a big difference. And the shuffle is tiny, so it won't get in the way. I've been watching e-bay all day and I've bid on several of them, but I'm coming to realize that using e-bay is only going to save me about $5 or $10, and it's going to waste a lot of time. So now I'm just waiting to see if I get outbid on the current auction, and if that happens, I'll just go to amazon or get a refurbished one from mac.

Here's the thing about pasta and chicken. It's so tasty and filling... for about 30 minutes. Then I get even hungrier than I was before I ate the pasta and chicken. That's what's going on right now. I shouldn't be hungry, but I am.

I'm waiting for that stupid auction to end, so I'm just going to keep writing. I'll post this picture. This is the only photo I took while I was out of town. It's Chloe taking a nap at my dad's house. I had put her on the futon on her pink blanket, and then I turned away from her and was writing a post while she worked on going to sleep. She falls asleep easier if she can't see me, but I couldn't leave the room because I needed to make sure she didn't fall off the futon. Anyway, when I turned to check on her, she had re-situated herself so that her head was on my pillow. So she got to sleep with the pillow, and I took my nap on her baby blanket without a pillow. It was kind of hot in that room, that's why she doesn't have any clothes on.Geez, I still have 18 minutes left on that auction. I guess I'll just go ahead and end this and find something to eat even though I shouldn't be hungry.

Hey sis,

Glad you made it out to Idaho and back o.k. and that you are settling into your routine again.

About the Ipod, I would stay away from ebay. Just buy it direct from apple. Also, be careful listening to it at the Gym as it can really mess up your hearing if its turned up too loud to compensate for outside noises (like the gym speakers). I tried to use mine once when I was at the gym but I had to turn it up so loud to drown out the loudspeakers in the gym that it hurt my ears and was not worth it. So there is my lame big brother advice for the day:)

Wow! Sounds like you're recovered from the trip (or just driven?)You have ambitious plans for finishing before school starts.
I'm not surprised that Miss Chloe figured out the chair thing. The toga is "quite" fetching:0)
The shuffle sounds like a good idea. Chuck uses his all the time and I use mine pretty much all day when I'm home alone and I can't go walking/running without it.
Well, I'm at school and the drum corp just started practicing in the hallway. I will have to leave now. It feels like I am inside a bass drum. Yikes!
