I had so much fun sewing last weekend that I just had to do it again this weekend. I took the girls to the fabric store this morning and finally got the fabric to make Leyla's crib bedding. I know it seems kind of late, but honestly, she never started using her crib until just a few weeks ago. She used to just sleep right next to me. It made life a lot easier for me and she liked it. But now she won't settle down after nursing and has to sleep in her crib. I don't like it because it means I have to get out of bed and stumble in her room and bring her back to my bed every time she wants to eat, which is still pretty often. Since using a pump isn't as effective as a baby's death grip on the boobie, she doesn't get as much milk at day care, and she makes up for it at night. This was just fine when she was sleeping with me, but now that I have to get up 3-4 times a night, it's not so cool.
Ok, I went off on a tangent there. The point is that today I've been working on Leyla's quilt, and it is going to be so cute! I'm going to make covers for the bumpers I made when Chloe was a baby. It's going to look really nice when I'm all done. I'm so excited. I just love to sew! I think what I'll have to take a short video of my progress since I don't have a digital camera.
Well, I've been typing this with a squirming, shrieking Leyla in my lap who keeps hitting buttons, and I can't handle it anymore. adios.

Hey, have you introduced rice cereal into her nightime diet? That usually conks them out for a much longer time than the boob fix.
just a thought.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I've been giving her cereal with fruit for lunch, but not before bed. I'll have to try that, because last night was horrible. After midnight, she was up every hour. That can't continue.
Aleta swears by the let them cry a couple of nights practice.
We were just talking about this since I just got back from a weekend with new parents who were clueless. (not that you are)
Anyway, she says it is tough the first night and the baby always cries a long time, but the second night they cry less and usually by the third night they are done.
So, from a mom of six it seems like decent advice. She says the older they are before you do it the longer they will cry.
Anyway, make sure she is full of cereal and milk and she shouldn't need much for many hours.
She is just wanting the comfort of the boob and she has to get weaned from it as go to sleep device.
I know I know... i'm not a mom, I'm just sharing what the mom of many shared with me.
love you!
I want to get back to sewing again. I miss it tons, and there are tons of things that I want to make too. Maybe YOU have just motivated me!
