Well, I've made up the signs, so now I HAVE to have a yard sale this weekend. I think I'll make up some cookie dough this week and put it in the freezer so I can just get it out and bake it on Friday night before the sale. I'm actually having fun making little price tags and an inventory list. And whatever doesn't sell will be taken to Goodwill. I'm tired of having stuff all over the place just because I think that some day, I just
might find a use for it. If I haven't had use for it in the past two years, I don't think it needs to clutter my house any longer. (and if the signs look funny it's because I put arrows over my address. I seriously doubt I have an online stalker, but on the offchance that I do, I don't want to provide him with a road map. You just can't be too careful these days, especially when you're responsible for the well being of two beautiful little girls.)
Anyway, here are a few of the little bags of jewelry I've made up so far. I figure if I set everything up on the front lawn and put a baby gate in the front door, I should be able to handle the sale and the kids. We have 6 windows that face the front lawn, so I can keep an eye out while I'm inside if I need to change a diaper, feed a kid, etc. And if somebody feels a need to steal my trinkets while I'm inside... so be it.

I got a lot done today. Right now I wish I had Dean and Chelle here because I hurt my back, and I think between their massage therapy and chiropractor skills, they could get me feeling good again. Plus, they're nice to talk to, and it's nice to have an adult conversation once in a while.
Anyway, I either hurt my back when I hauled 6 cinder blocks from one end of the house to the other, or when I did the same action with a trundle bed frame. Why did I do all that? Because I realized I had really valuable storage space under my day bed that was going to waste because I had the trundle frame under there with no mattress on it. I kept thinking that I would get a mattress for the trundle bed so that if we ever had Miguel's boys over, they could each have their own beds. Well, we only have them over for about 5 days a year, and they don't mind sleeping on the couch. So, I sold the frame for $5 and I bought some big storage bins and successfully took Leyla's room from 2/3 functional to 100% functional! It only took me 2 years to get that room all cleaned out. That's all. And it's a good thing I did it. Take a look here:

All this stuff was behind a curtain so it wasn't ugly to look at, but it was collecting dust and impossible to keep clean. I knew it had to be pretty dusty back there, which is why I wanted to get it cleaned out. I had no idea just how bad it was though. I couldn't believe how much dust and dirt had accumulated back there. But the good news is that now everything is either outside or inside of one of several large storage bins with lids under the daybed. So now, all I have to do is wipe off the tops of the storage bins and sweep under the daybed and crib, and that should take care of most of the dust. That room is particularly prone to collecting dust because it has the air intake for the a/c in it. Anyway, I'll try to post a picture of the cleaned up room tomorrow. For now I need to get to bed so I can make it to my hair appointment. Hopefully this lady will be able to fix this train-wreck of a haircut!

Good luck with your garage sale. It's lots of fun to see people come pick up your stuff but also lots of work to maintain it. You can put kids in the playpen if you are worried that they can't see you.

That's a good idea. I'd considered that, and I'm sure I'll end up having to do that.
It will most llikely be another adventure for you Missy. Try to be careful with your back the next few days. Good luck with the sale. Looks like you're going to be very prepared.
Your signs look awesome! You'll definitely get some people to your yard sale with signs like those. Good luck! I hope you make lots of money and get rid of your junk. :o)
