Computers all day long

I won't bother going into the whole explanation as to why I have three different computers and why each one has a specific component that the others do not. What I will say is that I only had one internet connection, and three computers which need to be online. I also had two desktops that I need to be able to switch back and forth between. I have also been without a printer for years. So this weekend, I made it my goal to take care of all those problems. I got a KVM switch so I could share a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers between a Mac and PC desktops. I also got a wireless router so I can have the two desktops and the laptop online. And I got a printer. I have spent ALL DAY so far trying to get this crap all hooked up and figured out. I've already made two trips to Radio Shack. But the good news is that I have a fully functional Mac desktop and Mac notebook hooked up and my printer works. The bad news is that the PC isn't working. And if I can't get it to work, then I may as well take the KVM switch back because it's not doing anything. So now I have to go try and hook up the PC to a different monitor and keyboard to see if the problem is the PC or the switch. I'm not looking forward to doing that.

I am looking forward to finally painting this room and moving my bedroom over into Chloe's room. She's been sleeping with me every night, which is just fine with me, so I've decided that we may as well share her room. Then I can put all the dressers in the same room as the washer and dryer. And then, when all the kids are in bed, I can wash, fold, and put away laundry without waking anyone. I may put my sewing stuff in there, too. And I'm just going to tear out the old carpet and vinyl tile that I know is hiding underneath is and paint the concrete. It's cheap, and it primes the floor perfectly for some other flooring application.

But for now, I need to get to Home Depot.

Wow! That sounds like a recipe for a migraine if I ever heard one. But, you have at least one fully functioning unit, so that is marvy.
You are a brave girl. I would never undertake a project like that. You must have gotten a few computer genes in there somewhere. Good luck with projects - sounds like a busy week shaping up for you.
