First Week Update- for celiac :)

My first week of work was kind of a long one. It took nearly two days to complete all the HR paperwork and training. And now that all that is over with, I have to start on my technical reading as part of my Professional Development Plan. So, I spent Wednesday through Friday in my little cubicle reading technical documents. I don't know how many times I nearly fell asleep.

The reading will continue for a while. I can't go out into the field until I've gone to health monitoring and completed a 40-hour OSHA course. The health monitoring is in Houston, and it's scheduled for next weekend. That weekend is going to be crazy! Dylan has a game in San Antonio on Saturday morning, which is a 2 hour drive from here. Dad will be getting into town some time on Saturday, and we have a packet pick-up on Saturday night. Sunday morning is the harbor half marathon. And Sunday afternoon, a co-worker and I have to drive to Houston.

Speaking of the half marathon, I'm actually going to be kind of glad when it's over. Right now, any time I have for training has been devoted to running. As a result my arms are getting even flabbier, as well as my mid-section. After the half marathon, I'm going to go back to 1/2 hour workouts in the morning alternating weight training and aerobic activity. And I'm looking forward to that.

Anyway, the first week of November is Water Quality Annual Training, which is a week-long out of town event. And the week before Thanksgiving is my OSHA course. Which means, the reading will continue whenever I'm not in class or at a conference until Thanksgiving. But after that, I'll be out in the field, and my job will be much more enjoyable. But until then... I just gotta hang in there!

And dressing up is optional on Fridays. I can wear jeans, but I choose not to because I do not like jeans. And now that I have my agency attire, I can wear those (polo tee and button-up) with jeans anytime I want. So basically, as soon as I get tired of dressing up, I have other options.

Anyway, I should get out of bed. It's 10:30am! We slept in until 10:00 today! That's unheard of for us. Half the day has already been wasted in bed.

Whew!
That sounds like a lot of reading and training events. But it sounds like you're not going to all of them alone?

Thanks for the update!

I'd be most excited about the fact that you get to dress down whenever you want... (and I'd want basically every day)

What's happening with the girls while you are out?

AND...not pretty, but...whats up with the puss?

Well, the race is over AND you survived (chafed thighs and all).
Now- if you can just survive the reading of technical/legal jargon...
That could be the real trick!
Love you!
