The latest

Lately, all I want to do is sew. That's it. Sewing. I'm wondering if I should take a month off and go work in a sweat shop in china to get the sewing out of my system. That could do it.

Here are two dresses that I recently made for the girls:If I wanted to be a crappy mom, I could totally put Leyla into modeling. She does whatever pose I ask of her, and just look at how cute she is!! But I know better than to exploit her like that.
And Chloe is so stinking smart. She's got a pretty good handle on reading. I need to upload a video of her reading. But videos take SOOO long to upload. I just don't have the patience for that. Not when I could be using that time to sew something!Chloe is also SOOO difficult! I have so many discipline problems with her, not to mention an excess amount of energy to deal with. Just when I think I've found a style of parenting that works for her, it suddenly stops working, and I have to try something else. It is getting very frustrating. I'm thinking about getting her a 1/4 size guitar for her birthday. Yes, she's probably too young, but she really is SO smart, and if I think she could do it. And maybe it will be a challenge that she'll enjoy and keep her out of trouble. Probably not, but it's worth a try.

Also, I spent a lot of time and exerted a LOT of energy trying to establish a flower garden to replace some ugly old shrubs in front of the house. Well, it was looking pretty lame, and it was becoming obvious that one spot in particular was not getting nearly as much sun as I thought it would. So, I got some more plants this weekend, and transplanted quite a few plants, and it's looking much better. I hope the new shade-loving plants start to fill in. Also, I've still been biking to work and walking the girls to and from school. I really love our walks. We see something new every day, and we now know all the neighborhood cats and which ones are nice and which ones are lame.

Well, I'm out of time on my lunch break. Hopefully I'll make my way back here before next month!

I'm so glad you spent some potential sewing time posting.(:

Those dresses are super cute! Both your girls are the perfect little models for your creations, but I'm glad you don't choose to profit from their charm and beauty.

The good thing is that you keep trying to work with Miss Chloe. Instead of just giving up and beating her you try to learn the ways to help, guide and discipline her. She didn't fall far from her mom on the smarts tree.

Love seeing your posts! I have loads of crazy fabric (mostly of the heave cotton "apron" kind") if you run out of sewing material.

Ahhh...you DID post! And I didn't check until today :0( I'm glad you're enjoying the sewing. It's especially fun when you have two cute little models to sew for...

Hang in there with Chloe. She IS smart. And keeping her engaged in something productive that also allows her time with you is a good thing. The morning walks are a case in point.
The gardening is a great thing for you and the girls too. Thanks for a nice post.
