Events of the day

This morning I went to the gym to start my work-out routine back up. I was worried that two and a half weeks of no gym access would be a big problem. I was right to worry. I put on 5 pounds in those two weeks, and I had a hell of a time trying to work out. I ended up only being able to do 7 minutes on the elliptical machine and then walking on a treadmill with no incline for 20 minutes. I don't know if I'll be able to get back to the point I was at when summer semester ended. I doubt it. But I'll just keep walking on the treadmill if that's all I can handle. That's got to be better than nothing. I was feeling ok on the elliptical machine, but then the muscle in my stomach that's been hurting lately started to hurt a lot, so I stopped.

Some random lady made my day today. I was walking (actually, waddling is a more appropriate word) between classes and she was walking towards me. She suddenly exclaimed "you are so cute! I never looked cute when I was pregnant." I smiled and said thank you. And I actually felt cute for about 3 minutes afterwards. Then I just felt huge and pregnant again.

I realized today that I've had all four of my professors this semester for at least one other class before. That's good because I know what to expect from all of them.
Dr. Cook is 64 years old, wears thick brown 80's glasses and white calf-length socks with shorts. Like a lot of 64 year old men, he tends to ramble about silly stuff that's not necessarily relevant to what we're supposed to be studying.
Dr. Hickman is also an older guy. He spent 15 years in Africa and makes sure everyone knows it. Apparently he's notorious for being drunk and/or stoned in lab.
Dr. Southard is a nerd, but he's not he weird kind, he's the funny kind. In my mind, there are two kinds of nerds. There are the totally socially inept weird nerds who may or may not actually be smart, but they think they're smarter than everyone. Then there are the nerds who really are smart and if you get to know them, they're really funny, but in a nerdy way. He's the latter. He's the best chemistry teacher ever.
I thought Dr. Thomas was a lesbian for about half a semester. Then she mentioned something about her children and I noticed she had a wedding ring. I guess she's just a larger stature biologist.

I finished school today at noon since there are no labs during the first week. I realized that this was probably my only chance to get the daybed out of Chloe's room and into the guest bedroom since I could leave her at daycare til 4:00 if I needed to. So that's what I did. I tried to move the whole thing without taking it apart. Yeah, that didn't work. After a lot of cursing, I took the whole thing apart and reassembled it in the guest bedroom. If you come to my house, you WILL sleep on the bed whether you like it or not. I'm not letting all that work go to waste. But it's done now, and I got the problematic recliner put in Chloe's room...I walked Chloe to her room once I got her home so she could check it out. She climbed right up on it and got to work bouncing around and trying to reach the green ribbon on the wall. Then I gave her a stuffed animal, and she bent herself in half giving it a hug...
I know babies are flexible, but I think Chloe inherited her dad's flexibility. Look at her foot covering her eye. Miguel can pull his leg up over his head without stretching. He can do the splits too, also without ever stretching. I have a picture of him with his leg over his head, but I won't post it.

I suppose I should start making dinner. Chloe will be hungry when she wakes up from her nap.

Wow she is flexible! I loved your description of nerds---I totally agree. Good luck with classes! Also thanks for posting the cool glasses photo. I really helped me visualize your teacher. :)
