Doing better

I'm doing better today. It helps that when I came home from class tonight, my new babysitter had both the kids bathed, and asleep in their beds. And, she washed the dishes! That was really nice to come home to. I do love it when Chloe comes running and jumps into my arms when I get home, but at 9:00 at night, I'd really rather not have to try and wrangle the kids into bed.

So, why did I need a babysitter? Well, a few weeks ago I realized that I have a night class once a week this semester, and Miguel isn't around to watch the kids, so I needed to make arrangements for someone to watch them since daycare closes at 6:30. I was thinking I would ask the neighbor's daughter if she would be available. I ran the idea by Miguel, and he thought maybe she was too young. I disagree, since I know she's old enough to have graduated from high school. But I took his concern into consideration and called my friend Katherine to see if she knew of any sitters. She volunteered to watch the kids on the night of my class. So last week I took the girls over to her place, but by the end of the night, Katherine realized she was in a little over her head since she has a 5 year old and a 2 month old colicky baby. So I decided I would talk to Naomi, my neighbor's daughter since I would be needing someone to watch them on a weekly basis. But before I did that, I called my friend Ryan to see if she would be available as a backup in case Naomi wasn't interested or available to watch the kids. Ryan didn't sound too excited about it, so I called Naomi, and she said she could do it every Wednesday. And the best part is, she's usually right next door, so it's really convenient, and since she watches the kids at my house, she can put them to bed and I don't have to deal with car seats, etc when I get out of my class at 9:30pm. And she said the girls were really well behaved and they had lots of fun. I was so relieved to hear that. And Naomi's a really sweet girl. I think this is going to work out really well.

I should probably get my stuff gathered up for school tomorrow.

I'm so glad you got that resolved. Sounds like she'll be great. And she washed the dishes too! WooHOo!
