Before and After Posts (for Keri)

This post is for my friend Keri. She wanted to see some of the work that I've done on the house in Texas, so I decided I'd do this post with links to all the previous 'Before and After' posts that I've done in the last two years, or however long I've had this blog.

The Kitchen

Guest Bedroom

Master Bedroom

Closet Tile

Living Room Paint

Exterior

Bathroom Paint

And it recently dawned on me that I've never done a before and after post featuring my very first home improvement project. When we moved into our home, I was exactly 9 months pregnant with Chloe. I knew what room I wanted to put her in, but it needed some work. Here's the room when we moved in:It had horrible, dilapidated, dirty shaggy green/brown carpet and needed a paint job. I tore out the carpet along with what was left of the padding and the pounds of dirt and dust and dead roaches hiding under it all a few weeks before I had Chloe (with the aid of a respirator).

This is the room after a good cleaning and a fresh coat of paint: Instead of taking the tile out and risking asbestos inhalation, I opted to cover the tile with floor leveler. I did this step the day Chloe was born. I was tired of being pregnant, and I really wanted to get it done before my mom come, so I went to Home Depot, bought the bag of leveler, and spent the day on my hands and knees spreading the stuff around. And here's the product of that:
And Chloe was born later that night.

A few months after Chloe was born, this is what her room looked like. And all for under $275 (well, not the crib)!

I guess that's it! Hopefully there will be more to come as I get the house ready to sell.

Man that's impressive when you look at those all together! Props to you Missy! I also liked seeing those videos of Leyla again when you were giving her the medicine. Amazing how much difference a year can make. Wonder what differences a year from now will make for you and the girls eh?

Wow. Wow. Wow. Seriously, that is incredible how much hard work you have put into that house. I always knew you were really creative, but I had no idea you were such a good interior designer. I bet people are going to fall in love with the house when they come to look at it. It looks amazing.
